The B&B comprises a bedroom in a delightful shade of green and white and a bathroom en suite in various shades of pink. The B&B is self-contained with your own front door and you have a pebbled area outside with chairs, table and sun loungers under a mimosa tree. When we stayed in May, there were red roses in bloom and hundreds of pale pink poppies fluttering in the breeze of the Mistral. The little cove fringed with pine trees and huge bushes of yellow broom, the blue Mediterranean shimmering in the sun and two little beach areas - are all a pebble's throw away from your front door. As a base, Carry le Rouet was perfect. It is a charming coastal town with a pretty harbour filled with white boats opposite which are several cafes and restaurants. One could walk there from the B&B but to drive, it took 5 minutes or so. We explored, by car, Avignon, Aix en Provence (Cezanne's atelier), Arles (Van Gogh Museum), St Remy, Les Baux (medieval town on top of a rocky hill) and other places along the coastline. We went to Marseille by train from Carry le Rouet (38 minutes) and had a great view of the calanques (inlets/creeks) en route and visited the new MuCEM - very modern architecture, great views and a wonderful restaurant Le Mole inside - exquisite food! I would definitely love to return to this area of Provence and explore further - there is much to discover. Lastly and definitely not least, the owner of the B&B, Emilie, was truly charming and a fount of knowledge about the area - we felt relaxed immediately. Thank you Emilie.
