My husband booked Cabrits for our honeymoon and we were amazed with how awesome everyone was! Dive Master, Pete, and Boat Captain, Jr, will make your diving experience one that you will never forget! Pete taught Mike to spearfish. These two make an awesome team that will keep you safe and entertained at the same time. We can not wait to visit the island again and dive with this awesome crew! Thank you for the awesome memories you two!!
Friends and I got Open Water Diver certified with Cabrits and couldn't have asked for a better experience. Pete is an awesome instructor; he makes sure you know your stuff, are proficient and have a great "underwater profile," while keeping the course fun. It's also very affordable. I would absolutely recommend Cabrits Dive Centre.
My wife and I had a great time with Pete and his crew! We went out and speared a few lion fish for dinner. He's a great passionate guy with a love for the ocean. We highly recommend him.
Hey Pete! I promised you I'd write a review, and here I am!
Cabrits is a great dive shop that will take good care of you. Pete (the owner) is a classic, ueber-educated, former big city/big business guy who decided 7-8 years ago to leave it all behind and buy himself a dive shop in the Caribbean. Now shirtless and barefoot 24/7, he's friendly and warm, and you won't go wrong choosing him to take you diving. He was easy to work with, prompt in exchanging emails, and also gave us a great recommendation for lunch! Kenny, our dive master, was super, and Jake was also wonderful and funny and charming as captain. They aren't the highest of service operations (therefore the 4 instead of 5 stars), and the boat was very basic; but all the important stuff they do very well.
Definitely not formal, hey, who cares? We took our Open Water class @ Cabrits Dive and loved it. Peter Hepp (owner) was attentive, instructive and loads of fun. The whole staff, Davina, Gina, Jay and Kenny are all wonderful. The diving in Dominica is fantastic. We stayed extra days to get in another dive, this time with local Dive Master Kenny, cool (in the good way) and knowledgable. Kenny and another diver in the group speared many Lionfish, a highly invasive and destructive species to the Caribbean. The sponges, coral, tunnels and grottos were what Dominica, underwater, is all about. We'll be back to Cabrits Dive Center next year.
My first dive since rupturing my achilles 10 months before. I did 2 tank dives and both were great! This was far from any dive trip I have done in the Caribbean before. Including the (awesome) dive staff there were only 9 people on the trip so it was far from the crowded "dive boat" trips I was used to which I really enjoyed. Some great walls, huge sponges, and nice caves coupled with warm water and great visibility made for a perfect return to the underwater world. Also, my wife doesn't dive so they made it very easy and convenient for her to snorkel. If we ever make it back to Dominica Cabrits Dive Centre will be the first place we go back to.
