We thought that an early drink prior to dinner would be a good idea. We had an Italian merlot which was fine. We asked for refills and the owner used the half bottle remaining from a previous customer! Not a good idea. We paid up and left.

Tgliere: a cold cuts dish can be assembled with industrial and cheap products and you'll be able to tell the difference only after trying Stefania and Vittorio's in their little enoteca. Now they have also some of my favorite Tuscan food, pasta e ceci (chickpeas and pasta) and panzanella (a salad made of bread and a bunch of different vegetables). Good wine. Nothing fancy, no hurry, just seat and relax.

Thank Carla B

We had a selection of AMAZING local specialties (mainly, cold cuts and cheese), with honey and jam pairings. We had a few seconds, a couple of glasses and a great coffee, all for 20 euros. If you are open to trying new things, this is the place --- you don't have any saying in what food you get. :-)

We were rapidly becoming depressed in this wonderful part of Italy because of the very poor food and accommodation we had been booked into by our tour company. Then we were saved by finding this heavenly Enotecha. Talk about an oasis in a culinary desert (not dessert)- this was truly wonderful. It is places such as this that linger on in the memory long after the bad places have faded into the memory midden. But it takes the combination of the informal, friendly atmosphere, the wonderful food and wine and the relaxed professionalism of the owners to create this.
When we went in the owner greeted us with a smile and 'we don't do knives and forks here.' He went on to explain and clearly it was food heaven. He suggested a wine which he poured for my wife and immediately - 'I think you don't like this one.' They discussed this and he brought another - which he poured generously. It was wonderful. The whole experience was just sublime. Both husband and wife were equally attentive and my only regret was that I wasn't able to sample some of his beers. This, I think was a real love and he spoke so knowledgably about them. A step too far.
Think you both your great hospitality.

We had the pleasure of being in Sovana for a couple of weeks last year whilst working on a movie. This tiny restaurant is the absolute gem of the area. In a relatively 'good-restaurant-barren' area of Italy (surprising I know, but true) this tiny entice was like an oasis! The owners are a absolutely delightful couple both of who are incredibly knowledgable and discerning in their choice of cheese, wines and cured meat from the surrounding area. We ate there sitting out in the open under umbrellas, sometimes inside too, at various times of the day including breakfast. After a long and arduous day's work it was a memorable experience to walk over to them and be tempted by their wonderful variety of local produce, and to enjoy it, sipping their finely chosen wines as the sun slowly left the sky. I think what I loved most was the passion that both partners felt about the food that they were introducing us to. There was not one moment of disappointment! Thank you Vino al Vino and apologies for having waited so long to make our enjoyment known!
