We nearly had the estate to ourselves with our group of 12 women, and we very much enjoyed the personal attention and care from Elisa and Alessandro (and their kids and parents). They were all delightful and made the stay to so charming and comfortable. The renovation of the once-crumbling building is unbelievable, and although it's been completely restored and updated, it still maintains its old-world charm. It's a bit secluded but parking is ample if you have a car. There are 3-4 dining options nearby if you're on foot. A cab into Lucca is Euros 30+. The adjacent restaurant is higher-end Japanese fusion - beautiful AND tasty. The trattoria up the road is a wonderful family-run place with excellent local cuisine. We were there in late Feb., so didn't try the pool. But the grounds were beautiful and there were many places to walk and explore. I'd love to come back in the summer months. And I would definitely stay here again.More
