My friend and I arrived at Little Gates on 3rd Aug for the closing of Crop Over. Before we arrived, Sharon arranged airport transfers for us at a cost of $25. Once we arrived at the property we were over the moon as not only was the accommodation eexactoy how it looked in the pictures but, it was clean and equipped with all the necessary amenities. They also provide a great wifi connection and a safe for your own safe keeping. We were giving a run down by Mike, our driver, who gave us a few tips that really helped with our getting around the island.
Little Gates is conveniently placed in the middle of Bridgetown, St. Lawrence Gap and Oistins so, you’re never short of places to eat, food to buy for the house.
All in all, we had a lovely stay here and if we were to ever come back again, we’d definitely stay at Little Gates. Thank you for having us.
Sharon is a great host her. We are going back sooo relaxing to be at Little Gates and close to beach.
Having stayed at Little Gates for nearly two weeks, what an absolute treasure this is on Maxwell Coast Road. Apartment is immaculately clean and has everything imaginable to make it a home from home.Bedroom has a great air conditioning unit. The washing machine was found to be invaluable during our stay. The privacy this property afforded is superb especially early mornings and late afternoons for breakfast and drinks as the sun goes down making it your own private haven. The hosts of this property are at the end of the telephone should any problems arise.
Location of Little gates is excellent could not be better for access to everything on the island, buses, ZR vans two minutes walk away. Taxi drivers close by.
Eateries and hotels close by, Fort Maxwell for pizzas at reasonable prices- very short walk away. Try the omelette for breakfast at Bougainvillea's Calabash cafe delicious!!. Or dinner at Siam the other restaurant at this hotel.Check opening times.
To sum it up a holiday at Little Gates leaves you with an immense feeling of well being after days of relaxation at this quiet residential location. Looking forward to the next time...........
Loved this place so much I went back for a week this year. The place continues to maintain the high standard or decor, cleanliness and everything you need for a self catering holiday.
Sharon was again a perfect host, popping in to check everything was ok and responding quickly to messages.
Took the opportunity to explore a little further. There is now an Italian restaurant (Barbados style) right at the end of the road. Well worth a visit. Dover beach is a leisurely 15 minute walk where you can hire a sunbed and umbrella for B$15 dollars.
Sadly the little beach nearby will be backing onto a new hotel soon, but the beach has been widened so there should be room for everyone.
From a solo, female traveller perspective this is a safe place to stay, near enough to amenities to not need a car.
