I visited this resort last week with my husband, 15 year old son and 77 year old Mother. Check-in was very quick, we had booked a 2 bedroom apartment. My mum found the many steps up to the apartment a bit of a challenge but manageable.
The apartment was a good size and spotlessly clean, the main bedroom was very big with a huge bed adjoining bathroom and balcony area which overlooked the pool, unfortunately it was predominantly in the shade. The 2nd bedroom has twin beds and again has its own bathroom. The two bedrooms are separated by a kitchen area.
WiFi and Air Con free of charge in the rooms which is always a bonus when you have a 15 year old whose life support is his phone.
The resort has many pools to choose from each with its own bar area. All with plenty of loungers. However the nicest pool with the nicest most comfortable loungers is reserved for adults only up at Elia restaurant which was a little disappointing.
We upgraded to include breakfast at a cost of 6 Euro per person which was excellent value for money, and comprises of everything you could think of. The supermarket on the resort is not well stocked and a little expensive.
Staff are a bit of a mixed bunch. Most are pleasant, friendly and helpful. Two members of staff stood out for us; Marie at Delphin Bar is absolutely lovely and a total star as is the big handsome guy at the Elia bar who makes a great cocktail and always had a joke/smile for us. The English receptionist could do with attending some training on customer service though!
Pefkos itself is not a patch on Rhodes or Lindos in my opinion but is well established with lots of restaurants/bars but little or no shopping.
Our favourite restaurant was the little Taverna at the bottom of the road, it doesn’t look much but the food is absolutely fab, especially the Stifado and Kleftiko. We also ate at Enigma, Philosophia, Dama Dama and The 3 Pigs all of our meals were great and reasonably priced. Portions are huge.
We hired a car from reception for 40 Euro for a day and drove to Rhodes 1 hour and Lindos 5 mins away, both definitely worth a visit.
The beach is beautiful and sandy withe plenty of loungers (payable locally) and spectacular view.
All in all the resort is 3 star, value for money, clean and has everything you need for a holiday as busy or as relaxing as you want it to be.
