Back from a 16km trek we arrived at this restaurant at 2.10pm when all the others were closed.
We wanted to eat tortelli di patate with butter and sage or duck sauce, typical dish in the area.
When we saw the menu we were afraid that our wish would be missed, but the waiter helped us to convert the condiment proposed in the menu to what we wanted. Thanks.
So we ate good tortelli with duck sauce, with a glass of Morellino di Scansano, water and two coffees, for a total of 34 euros, adequate in Florence but high for the area.

It was really nice to find such a lovely restaurant in a small "borgo" like Stia. It was a pity that the temperature was not high but we still enjoyed the terrace on the Falterone river with our offered Prosecco. Bread was made at home and I even had the gluten free one made of mais flour. My favorite plate was the Gnudi;very Toscan and wonderfully tasty. We also had a very good risotto. We were 3 generations with my parents and my kids and everyone finished the lunch satisfied.

A good restaurant if you are looking for something different, not traditional food. For example, the tiramisu is completely different to anything you have tried before.
The decoration is just great!

The food was excellent. But this was one of those occassions when the " front of the house" let down the excellent hard work of the " back of the house"
The young waitress was very sweet, but not organised, very slow and not properly trained and that made for a frustrating visit. Left waiting for a very long time before even presenting the menus ( it was not busy, had 3 tables in total occupied) I have never before waited over half an hour after ordering wine to finally have it served ( and dripped onto stem of glass with no attempt to clean it up so could have it dripping on me) instead she chose to spend time folding napkins or pouring water into the cappuccino machine, (one glass drinking bottle at a time) instead of bringing out the wine or the very tasty amuse bouche showed either lack of sense or lack of training.
The food when it arrived was excellent and nicely presented on the plates and it appeared the kitchen was well organised by the timing of other dishes to other tables arriving properly together.
The clear lucite chairs might be trendy and interesting to some, as they do open up the space, but plastic and the Casentino heat of summer are not comfortable for sitting, feeling you will stick to the chair or in the extreme heat melt into it. The room is in need of some soft surfaces to absorb the noise.
Management just needs to put in some time in to properly train the young wait staff, and help them prioritise their service, as it doesn't matter how good the food is, or the sincerity of the nice smile if the entire experience is unbalanced.

We had a very good time with friends. They took care of all of our requests very well. All My friends were satisfied with the plates that they have chosen. The most complemented were the Lasagna with zucchini and the chicken.
And I liked very much my Bavarese cream at the end.
