Average place to stay... Rooms cleanliness can be considered ok but watch out for unfriendly staff/owner. Price reasonable but you can find better value at other nearby place.

We had two very relaxing days at this peaceful resort. The wooden chalets were basic but very comfortable with a good view out over the sandy beach. The gardens and pool were kept immaculately and for the most part we had it all to ourselves. Basic meals can be had but there is plenty of choice of places to eat in the charming village of Cherating.

If you're looking for luxury or a vibrant night life then this is not the place for you but if you just want to chill for a few days then this is once of the nicest places to stay in the village.

Room Tip: You are offered a beach view or a pool view.

We were met off bus as promised. The owners are very friendly, and speak good English. Staff are friendly, of course you get back what you give! Resort is right on the beach, pool is lovely, clean, as are the rooms. We had a most pleasant and relaxing staff. The rules are there for a reason, for your safety and comfort.

A rasta party(rasta village) was recently held at the cherating beach resort. We decided to attend the event, and so we had to do reservation for the chalet in advance to avoid any inconvenience when we arrive at cherating. one of us had done a prior reservation for the CHERATING BAYVIEW RESORT, for the deluxe room which allows four person in the chalet (but we had five person in the group) and so we assumed that we could take an additional mattress by paying additional for it as most of the chalets allows that.

Unfortunately, the moment we stepped our foot at the reception, we did not receive any greetings from the lady who was standing at the reception(assumed her to be the owner's wife), we asked her in a polite manner how much would it cost to take an additional mattress, and thats when she started being rude. Her tone of voice was like she was going to pick a fight with us when we told her there is a fifth person and she insisted we take a second room as she would not allow a group of five in a room. And so we agreed that two of us from the group would stay in another chalet.

After unloading our bags from the car to the chalet, we sat on the balcony and was planning our activities for the day, the lady from the reception approached us and complained about the way the car and bike was parked(they didnt guide us properly when we asked them about the parking) and yet she had to complain of the parking. A few minutes after she left, the owner(an old malay guy-assumed to be the husband of the lady standing at the reception) walked towards us, and said the same thing about the parking, then when he saw five of us, he started questioning us, and we explained that only three person is going to stay at his chalet and not five, he did not just give up on that(his motif was like trying to get ride of us), then he started saying that we should not sit at the balcony and have any discussion there(his tone was kind of rude from the time he approached us), and so since we had paid money and have the rights as a customer, we questioned him back, he did not answer any questions and this was his answer "IF YOU DO NOT LIKE IT HERE THEN LEAVE, I'LL RETURN YOUR MONEY" and when my friend went to the reception to get her refund, the lady did not want to refund the full amount we paid, but we demanded that we be paid in full after a long argument with the couples.

Their attitude towards customers is intolerable(both husband and wife).

We thought that he was a racist and that made him unhappy to see us, but when we talked to locals after leaving the Bayview Resort, and most of them commented badly on the husband and wife saying they do that to most of their guests.

REMINDER: THINK TWICE BEFORE YOU DECIDE TO STAY AT A PLACE WITH SUCH TERRIBLE ATTITUDE LIVING SPECIES.

PS: The place is located near a Muslim cemetery, mosquitoes are breeding at the chalet and the road leading to the chalet is horrible with improper road and most of all, you ll have to self-service to open and close the barrier for the parking area without getting any assistance from their staffs even if they are around.

I would really like to recommend travelers to try the Eastana Resort located at Cherating, it takes only about 3minutes walk to the beach, and trust me, their employees are all so friendly and they welcome you with a smile and it would make your day good. Plus they will be at your service whenever needed.

Travelers should also try visiting the rasta village, its a good chill out spot to just relax and listen to some reggae musics and their food is AWESOME!!. The folks there are also friendly and they would love to mingle around.

Room Tip: Eastana Resort, reasonable price, friendly people.

my trip there includes 5 of us for a weekend break as well as for the rasta party at rasta village...unfortunately we almost ended up in this horrible resort. we were welcomed very "humbly" by two rude old men and a fat lady. i doubted the the resort for its quietness untll our few minutes there then we realise why its empty..the old men who thinks himself very great has his stupid rules whereby we cannot hang aorund at the balcony area..so my advice for young group of friends who wana realy chill out...delete this resort from your list..and also the old man will give a bad impact for the start of your holiday. they have a very dirty swimming pool as well as they are the host of mosquito's..you probably end up having dengue after your holidays there. my very first experience here where you are not usher in to your room with proper directions..the price of the resort does'nt worth the stay. luckily we have a very welcoming, comfortable yet affordale resort called EASTANNA RESORT...quite near to rasta village..very friendly staff..you'll have a great stay there with no complaints...
