hotel/staff(99.5%!) are excellent, food good, if a little pricey & not so good on Sundays !
as restaurant is open to non-residents & is open late, there is quite a bit of noise until late but ear-plugs from the pharmacy next door were a great help !
unfortrunately, the piped music, especially at breakfast time was too loud & inappropriate to the venue !
but, all in all, about 7.5 from 10

Arrived late at night. Male receptionist was totally miserable! I asked him it he was unhappy and he said he was just tired - it was 11.45pm! Didn't help with luggage gave us our room cards and told us which floor we were on. We had requested a top floor room and we were not disappointed. It was really nice, very trendy with a great bathroom. The hairdrier was awful so I suggest you take your own. The usual decent toiletries bathrobes, slippers, mini bar, tea and coffee plus a flat screen tv. In the morning on opening the electric blind the wonderful glass front balcony gives the impression that you could almost touch the sea, amazing! The breakfast was good but a bit disjointed. Coffee could be served at your table but if you wanted to make your own there were sachets of coffee and a jug of hot water on one side of the restaurant whilst the cold milk was on the other. Too many tables near the buffet consequently if you had one of these tables people were always standing behind you making toast, coffee ect. People were always asking to have cups or bowls restocked, I asked several times for a well done fried egg and never managed to get one yet! On the plus side you could eat outside on the deck overlooking the sea. There is no pool in the hotel but there are two small shingle beaches nearby. Two beds and an umbrella €5. I would advise anyone going there to get a pair of beach shoes as the sea is full of stones and not easy to walk on barefoot. We did not have lunch or dinner in the restaurant but it did look good typical fast food, burgers stefado ect. We did eat in a beautiful place call Stadium just accross the road and maybe 5 mins walk really good food and wonderful service in beautiful surroundings. The meals we had there averaged €50 including wine. Worth a try. We enjoyed the Kos Aktis hotel it is in a brilliant location for Kos Town and the veiws out to sea Turkey and the ports are stunning. A few of the staff could learn to smile a bit more and be a little more friendly. All in all a good place to get some September sunshine, 30deg most days. I would use this hotel again.

I used trip advisor and everyone's postings for my greece island hopping trip. thought I'd repay the thanks and put in my 2 cents.

this place was absolutely fantastic! it really does look like the picture. all rooms has a glass walled balcony over looking the ocean (turkey) which is the best part. decent sized rooms, very modern with glass surroundings, especially the bathroom. bathrobes, slippers provided. cable tv was a little limited but no worries, the FREE wireless internet (each day is a different code) is fast enough to stream in movies/tv. h2o restaurant is below with access to the beach on the right and lounge chairs to relax on the left . I stayed on the 1st floor (2nd) and you can see the patrons below. it's a little close but it didn't bother me. at night the noise level was minimal and a metallic door will roll down over the patio door for privacy/noise if needed. they don't have a printer so email them your boarding pass. staff was very helpful and nice. an excellent buffet breakfast is served free for hotel guests in the h20 restaurant downstairs. nothing is better than watching the sunrise on the restaurant deck, inches away from the crystal clear blue water, eating a tasty meal.

the area-- couldn't be more convenient.
step outside of the hotel, walk towards the right approx 4 min is the main local bus station and mini bus "train" to ascepales. follow the water, 8 min is the ferry to all the nearby islands and turkey. or make a left at the castle, keep walking and you'll hit all the tourist restaurants on the boardwalk, clubs, boat tours, diving, fishing, shops...etc. keep following the boardwalk around to the other side of the harbor are more places to eat/shop.
step outside and go left a few feet and you'll find the best gelato/ice cream place in town. a decent size scoop for 1.5 euros. keep going, on the right are more food places and 5 min away is a small grocery store.
step outside and go straight for 15 min is the ktel bus stop that takes you to/from the airport for 3.25 euros (50 min ride). much better than the 25-35 euro for a taxi.

only regret was not staying here longer, would easily take this vacation again.

Room Tip: I was in room 110, center of the hotel. probably could have been higher but never the less still gre...

Probably not as cool as it thinks it is this hotel is nonetheless a good one. It is directly on the seafront with views across to Turkey. The rooms are comfortable rooms and all have balconies looking to seaward. The staff could cheer up a bit but even so the restaurant is better than most on Kos and benefits from the proximity to the sea as much as the rest of the place.
