We visited betaab valley in the first week of april and were surprized to find so much snow at this time of the year. The weather in Kashmir has been quiet cold and its been raining/snowing.

The moment your taxi arrives at the valley, you are hounded by tons of guides/vendors etc which is not so nice. They keep up after you even if you tell them you dont need their services. Once you enter after taking the ticket, its a nice experience.

We had a great time playing in the snow, making snow man and generally enjoying the view. Worth a visit.

It was our first view of lots and lots of snow.... just enjoyed the view. Possibly the best time will be late afternoon with the setting sun creates a glow on the snow peaked mountains!

We were lucky to see fresh snow and the valley was covered in a layer of thick snow. It was beautifull.

Except the township and traffic jam because of no reason everything is divine. Try to avoid reaching there during afternoon. The traffic is terrific and beyond control and there is absolutely no one to control. Try also not to be in the town as I found very dirty. But beyond that everything is true gift of nature which will take you to a trance. Avoid the guides and try to be by specific with rates as they will try to take as much as they can. Really difficult to manage for the people who believe in fixed rates.

Pahalgam is certainly the best place in Kashmir as far as the scenic beauty is concerned. Mother nature has endowed this place with abundant beauty in terms of greenery, expansive valleys, crystal clear water fountains and majestic mountains.

Unfortunately the tourism has not kept pace with time and thus remains largely unorganised. One has to bargain and negotiate with the locals at every step to avoid getting fleeced. Nevertheless, it is worth doing so since the end result is simply amazing. We paid more than INR 700 to hire a taxi to Betaab Valley. This, however, seemed pittance once we reached there and enjoyed immense beauty of the place.

Made famous by the Bollywood movie of 1980s named Betaab, this place offers a veritable experience as far as natural beauty goes. All features constituing natural beauty have been placed at its disposal. At times this place is unduly windy and prone to rains, it would make sense to go prepared with suitable cloths and umbrella there.

At any cost, don't miss this place.
