This place exemplifies 'uchi dukan, fika pakwan'! We reached here hungry and wet, and the 1st disappointment was not getting a table. Of all the items listed on the menu, hardly anything was available. We ordered a number of trout dishes and a couple of egg biryanis. The egg biryani was tasteless. Even in the trout dishes, the accompanying rice was devoid of taste. The only dish which had an semblance of taste was Trout Masala. The service was almost equally poor. When we called the chef to give feedback, he was nonchalant and instead threw attitude at us. All the dishes are expensive. Please avoid this place.

In ref to your review kindly note your first disappointment of not getting a table is because the place was full and we follow first cum first serve basis. Fresh river water Trout available to hoteliers is expensive, @Rs 7,50/- per kg, therefore it comes expensive on the menu. Trout is unlike any other fish as it comes with a centre bone and rainbow trout available in Pahalgam is one of the finest varieties available anywhere n the world. Also you cannot have too many flavors & condiments in trout as it takes away from the original taste of trout. We do hope you will visit us next time around so that you can have a better expereince keeping the above into consideration.
Thanks & regards

Located at the entry gate and part of the Pahalgam Hotel this tiny little eatery offers Lip-smacking and delicious dishes in locally caught Trout Fish. This is a "must do" while you are in Pahalgam.

I had the best trout ever in my life here. the day we went there, the staff told us that the days servings were of the biggest size they ever get and true to their word the serving was quiet large. I have trout fish in manali regularly but they were no match to the trout fish i had in Pahalgam. A word of advice, you will enjoy here only if you go prepared just to have trout as their rest of the menu is very limited and they have nothing else special to offer. For typical punjabi flavour try their trout masala and to relish trout in its original flavour try trout menuiere

If you love fish then this place is a must to visit. Nice and cosy restaurant that serves fresh trout fish and other fish. My suggestion is only to eat trout fish as it is fresh river fish and the other one that they serve is a frozen fish (forgot the name). It's quite pricey (Rs.650/- for one trout fish) but worth the money.

We visited the place on the basis of the ratings on TripAdvisor. Found the place easily. It was empty. We ordered one Trout fry initially. It was fried well, and came with a large portion of finger chips. We ordered another fry. This one was completely uncooked on the inside. We showed this to the staff, and asked for a replacement. This last one was fried well, again. They charged us for all 3 though. At almost Rs 600 a plate, we found the dish hugely overpriced. The restaurant is itself quite small, and there is not much of an ambience. Just a few trout-related trivia on the walls.

Not worth the price. Does not live up to the high TripAdvisor rating.
