Pleasant set up with combination of tables and booths. We enjoyed grilled fatty tuna, salmon sushi and grilled Japanese Wagyu Karubi meat which were excellent. Wagyu was cooked well according to request and of good quality and sushi was melt in the mouth. Wagyu sashimi and sea urchin with minced fatty tuna rice bowl was good but grilled eggplant and beef soba were both underwhelming. Eggplant was unevenly cooked and soba stock lacked depth of flavour. Value for money varied from good (beef noodles at $142) to average (sea urchin and tuna on rice bowl at $620). Although grilled Japanese Wagyu Karubi meat was $1600, it was of good quality and larger serving. Greatest disappointment however was the Japanese green tea. Restaurant of this calibre should serve proper green tea. What was served was of poor quality which was diluted to the extreme and served luke warm. Edo is a safe choice for tourists as it has a variety of offerings in a comfortable environment with adequate service.

OK, having a good Chinese and Japanese restaurant is critical to any major hotel in Macau. Shockingly with 4 hotels here there isn't a great Japanese or Chinese spot. I always head to FourSeasons or Paris for Chinese food. Time to up your game SCC! Get rid of this underperforming Japanese spot and put in a high end high quality place. You can't compete with Wynn Palace and MGM Cotai's new restaurants. Time to get with the times before all your customers head elsewhere.

Had Saturday dinner at 11 pm and Sunday late lunch with girlfriend. Both odd times, but food was excellent and service good both times.

Portions here are sized to share. Something I wish had been made clear to us before we ordered. The leftovers that we had, table of 2, could have easily fed another 2 people. The food was so flavorful, but yet also so delicately done as good Japanese food should be. The menu is quite diverse. It does contain a lot of seafood. As someone with an allergy I often find that I have very limited options when that is the case. Here I had almost too many to choose from. It was such a pleasant surprise.

The one surprise was the lack of a drink menu. I think I recall seeing some sake but no wine or beer. We ate dinner and then went to one of the hotel bars to get a drink.
