The hotel complex is huge. The room I stayed in was spacious, nice and clean. Overall, it was quite a pleasant stay. The only thing my hubby has a problem was that the gym opens at 8 am which is quite strange by any standard. After about 20 min of 'negotiating' with the concierge (as they don't understand much English), they had arranged for my husband to go to the gym at another hotel in the same complex.

The casino was not crowded and less smoky than the one at Venetian.

Would recommend trying out the TW restaurant (a HK style cafe) and the taiwnese food restaurant within the complex. You can point out from the photos stuff to eat.

Room Tip: During my stay a on Apr 13th, they are having some renovvation work done for higher floors and the noise started at 10 am. We didn't know about it until we get to the room after checking in. They have a letter explaining it. So ask the reception about it before checking in.

It's huge, comfortable and new. This is more like a resort to me. There are pools, beach, spa, gym and so on. Free wi-fi was provided when I booked. Love the food court because they were not pricy. Most of 4 to 5 stars hotels have very expensive restaurants only. But this one, it has a great food court for people. Room is so clean and lucky that we have a room with balcony and overlook the lovely pool. The rolling bed (we have 3 people) is very comfy too. Tips: shuttle buses are great. They are not only connected to the piers, they also connect some great shopping districts of Macau. So instead of taking taxi, you may consider the free shuttle buses which almost all casino hotels in Macau provide, very convenience!

We spent some time at the Galaxy recently and were quite happy with our visit there. It is similar to the Venetian in that it is huge, has lots of shopping and restaurants, hotels, entertainment and large casino.

We ate lunch at the mid-range, Spaghetti House and were quite surprised and pleased with our meal there. We were also pleased to find a movie cinema on the Galaxy grounds, although we didn't catch a movie this time. They also had two interesting shows, the Wishing Crystals near the bus terminal at the end of the East Promenade and the Fortune Diamond show near the main complex lobby. These were similar to the Tree of Prosperity and Dragon Fortune shows at the Wynn as well as the Vquarium and Dragon Treasure shows at the City of Dreams, making some light entertainment for families.

We also found a rather large casino that was much less crowded than the Venetian, something we felt a bit relieved about as the swarming crowds there have become a bit intolerable for us at this point.

Overall, we felt the Galaxy was doing well for having just opened up last summer. It looks nice inside and from what we experienced, the main facilities are up and running just fine. Making this a worthy place to consider staying while in Macau or even to visit if you are a guest at a different hotel in the Macau peninsula or on the Cotai Strip.

Most hotel complexes in Macau house casinos and they are pretty much designed around casinos!
Galaxy is no different. Huge huge complex with reasonably priced restaurants, shops and a great outdoor wave pool (reputedly the biggest in the region).
Complete shuttle service to many destinations in Macau but the hotel has yet to systematically use the right sized bus for the right destinations, leading to long queus in some and empty busses in others.
And remember that the shuttle embarkation station is not in the front of the hotel!

Room Tip: Extra bed in room is OK - with still space to move around. Rooms are decent sized.

Was not impressed with this hotel from the time we checked until the time we left. We were herded like cattle everywhere we went, whether it was at check in (took hours to finally get in the door of our room); lining up for a bus... or check out! The hotel was full and the staff appeared to be quite frazzled and stressed. I never saw a manager in sight. Their offices were obviously far too cosy. Have also noted that they do not respond to the feedback offered by customers on Trip Advisor. This shows the level of arrogance that you will be sure to experience at this hotel. I regret staying there and WOULD NOT do it again, nor would I recommend it. I am angry that my many hours of research on the interrnet saw me paying a hefty price at this tacky, Chinese gambler-geared and cheesy hotel. This place will age quickly before the next best thing comes along in Macau...Also, I need to add that I agree with everything said by the previous reviewer. There was a lot of rain on one day whilst we were there and there were no umbrellas in the room and I did not want to join a 45 minute queue to ask for one. Staff also did nothing in terms of going out of their was when we came back drenched....Finally, bathroom products were gross and cheap! On a more positive note, the wave pool is now open and it is fantastic.
