Someone told us about this place before we hit it, so we showed up to check if it worth it as much as they had told us and, know what? It was even better!

Even when we both really love the indonesian food, we could not resist as soon as we saw they had a lot of tipical Spanish delights, so we tried the Bravas (which I must say they came with the best homemade ali-oli sauce that I've ever tried before, not even in Spain - and yes... I'm Spaniard).

We also tried the freshly juiced Dragon fruit and the banana smoothie. Again, so nice to take them right in front of the sea in a very comfy and casual place with such a beautiful views that we had to visit them some more times while in Gili Air.

The cheerful native staff is always happy to help and they are also learning Spanish quite well due to the owners, cheff and other Spanish people who work along the Pura Vida.

One special mention to the cheff Noler's recipes: Give a try to his Tortilla Española or his grandma's secret recipe of the Croquetas de la mama. Delicious! Tasty! Unforgettable!! You won't regret.

The Pura Vida also has live music and open mic jams, wanna dance? ask them when its this happening, take your flip-flops off and enjoy the most beautiful sunsets ever while the r&b, hiphop, reagge, etc soaks the air.

Pura Vida really worths the visit.

A group of 5 of us came here for dessert and opted the brownie which was a little dry but the best we could find on that stretch of island. However, when asked the staff refused to heat up the brownie. When we went to pay, there was a little confusion as the restaurant had no small change when we wanted to pay separately. One of our party handed over a 100k note, and the staff claimed that they had given it back to her but they had not. We argued our case, but what made it incredibly frustrating was that the staff all appeared high and had no idea what was going on. After 15 minutes of debating, and attempts by the staff to reconcile their books to no avail, we handed over another 100k to settle this. This goes against any sort of customer service we have been accustomed to around the world, where the customer is always right. AVOID THIS RESTAURANT AND GO NEXT DOOR!!

After investigating what happened, I want to tell you that one of you really didn't pay and kept saying that she did. Also that you became really rude and aggressive with the staff and this goes completely against the way of solving problems and communicating in the Indonesian culture .
I also think it is really mean to accuse the staff of being high when all of them are very innocent Muslim guys coming from local villages around with absolutely no interest and even no access to it. We think it is our social responsibility to offer good jobs opportunities to guys with no working experience and a lot of times not the best English level, which can make sometimes the communication not as fluid as in your country, but when you are traveling in a different country you should understand this kind of situation.
We always try to supervise the service but unfortunately in this occasion we couldn´t be there to deal with you guys.
And I know you had this kind of problems in some other businesses in the island (I saw you having the same argument in a restaurant close to the harbor, and you were also acting rude and erratic).

... unfortunately, the food is not so lovely. Had a chewy chicken steak with a real bad Aioli Sauce.

On Air for nearly a week and came here nearly every day, its such a nice place and the staff are awesome (shout out Jinju!)
Firstly, best nasi goreng I had in all of Indonesia hands down. Runny egg yolk! Secondly amazing Italian and Spanish food, patas bravas and bolognese during a storm whilst hungover saved us. Thirdly, best local coffee, it has a hint of coconut you don't get anywhere else.
Took shelter during several storms and felt at home each time. 5/5
