“Nice location but...”
Reviewed 22 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

A really good flat very well furnished and accommodated.
Beds are top one quality, everything needed is provided with an Anglo Saxon taste.
Wendy is really gentle and present in any case.
The location in the village is nice, close to the port and close to marvelous restaurants.
I recommend to spent a few time on the port between 9&10 am. It is lovely !
The problem remains the noise of the street that is painful.

“Quaint, homely, spotlessly clean village house!”
Reviewed 26 July 2015 for a stay in July 2015

Wendy's house is beautiful, she has catered for every need, leaves a lovely welcome basket and all other essentials. All communication with Wendy was really easy, she was waiting for us in the car park when we arrived, gave us a guided tour of the house and then showed us round the village and made sure we got a table at the local restaurant we wanted to eat at. It's really easy to use the ferry to get to the lakeside villages and definitely gives you a better view than going by car. Parking is a tight squeeze and even in July we managed to get a space each day and it is free. This little village makes you feel like you've stepped back in time, let's you relax and the lake and scenery are absolutely beautiful. The internet worked fine for us, we took our son who is autistic with us and I really don't think he wanted to come home. If there was a downside I would say the main road in the village could be a bit noisy and there are only two ferries out and two back but you just need to be organised, it's easy to go from town to town but from my experience there is no such thing as a hop on hop off ticket !

“Authentic Italian experience”
Reviewed 2 October 2013 for a stay in September 2013

Lovely old home in a less-frequented town on Lake Como. The house was well-equipped and beautifully furnished. Our host, Wendy, was extremely helpful, providing a generous welcome basket and tips about the local area, transport etc. Highly recommended!

“It's all in the details! Incredible!!”

Can't say enough about how well Wendy takes care of her guests! We've stayed in a lot of apartment vacation rentals all over Europe and I have to say Wendy is the best hostess we've ever seen! She knows just what you'll need and provides everything to make your stay one of the most memorable vacations of your life!
We loved how welcoming the apartment was with a bottle of Prosecco, fresh bread, butter, jam, Nutella, and a package of pasta and sauce. This is just the right thing to get you started if you arrive on a weekend or later in the day after shops are closed.
Check out the bakery and butcher shop just a block or two away for wonderful local food. There's also an open air market in the next village over (Leno) on Tuesdays. Lots of fun stuff there and a very pretty little village on the water to visit as well.
Five stars for the bed and bedding too! We we're treated to freshly ironed linen pillow cases!
The village of Sala Comacina was in a wonderful location to access the rest of Lake Como with easy ferry access a few times a day as well as the bus route and walking trails. You don't need a car here if unless you want to drive, and trust me, you have to be extremely brave or crazy to drive the roads in this part of Italy.
Only two small details would make this place better - less road noise (bring ear plugs for sleeping) and apartment internet access - that's it.
Don't miss this place!!
