Thank you for your review, David. I'm pleased we provided a comfortable stay for you both and the Bank Holiday weather was kind to you too.

My wife discovered this lovingly refurbished accommodation and the welcome you receive from Monica and Roy from arrival to departure makes you feel more like your staying with friends. Quiet, clean and everything considered including home made biscuits in the room and fresh milk in the mini bar.

The spacious room and generous ensuite is well worth the money and the breakfast of locally sourced ingredients and home made jams and marmalade’s served in the dinning room looks over the terraced garden at the rear. The red grapefruit marmalade was my favourite on a piece of freshly cut hot buttered toast.

The smell of oak from the log burner greets you as you enter and as the last sensation you enjoy as you leave.

They even kindly offered to run us to the party venue 2 miles down the road and pick us up again when we made the reservation.

Big towels and power showers and a range of botanicals in the bathroom and a library of movies and selection of chocolate bars in the mini bar for cosy nights in and wet afternoons was a treat and a great selection of teas and coffees made you feel very much at home.

If the weather had been brighter and the ground dryer I think we might have ventured out for a walk in their private woodland and allotment area just a hop step and jump up the road but we had to save that for next time.

Thank you both for looking after us well during our 24hrs away from home.

It was a pleasure to meet you both at the weekend. Thank you so much for your very thorough review of your stay with us. It’s good to know our facilities provided a relaxing respite from the terrible weather outside. Hope to see you again sometime.

This was the second time we had stayed at Staple Cross cottage because it was so nice. The house is absolutely spotless and beautifully decorated. The main bedroom is really spacious and very homely. There are tea and coffee facilities with PROPER milk and lovely little biscuits or cakes. TV and wifi are available and it's all really cosy. The bed and pillows are comfortable and the sheets smell wonderful. Breakfast was a good choice of delicious full English or toast, cereal and lovely homemade marmalade. The village is very rural but that also means it's delightfully quiet for a good night sleep. The bonus is, of course, Monica and Roy. They are so welcoming and friendly, chatty and helpful with maps, directions and recommendations for the local area. We spent a lovely evening talking with them and also over breakfast in their easy company. I'm pretty sure we will return before too long. A wonderful area to visit and this is the perfect place to stay while here

Staple Cross may be a very small picturesque hamlet, set in the rolling Devon hills, but the warmth and kindness shown by our hosts, following a two night stay, was by far the most enjoyable part of our visit in Staple Cross.
We were attending a family wedding at Huntsham Court, and for which needed accommodation nearby, not only was our stay accommodated by Monica & Roy, Roy was also very kind and acted a 'taxi' too and from the wedding too!
We would warmly endorse this most wonderful B&B.

Just returned from a 2 night stay at Staple Cross B&B we had traveled down for a wedding nearby. Monica & Roy were extremely welcoming when we arrived after 9pm. The room was lovely and clean and had the comfiest bed. We had the Full English breakfast both mornings which was really tasty with the sausages being from the local butchers. Also try some of the homemade jams ( we took a jar home it was that nice). Would highly recommend staying here when in Devon :-)
