Great stopover B&B not far from M5 and short 20 minute drive into Taunton. Quiet rural location. Lots of extras including welcome cup of tea and to die for lemon drizzle. Owners are welcoming and looked after us well. Breakfast includes freshly made fruit salad, locally produced apple juice and traditional fry-up with local produce including eggs from Selby House chickens. Other breakfast choices included delicious bacon omelette. Just wished we could have stayed longer to have another breakfast. Fellow guests reported that local hostelry good and within walking distance. Rooms worked out well as our teenage son had separate bedroom and could access shared shower room without coming through our bedroom. Ideal. Would stay here again.

We stayed here just one night as we were attending a wedding in the area but we would have loved to have stayed longer! We received such a warm welcome along with homemade cake and tea, Selby House was spotless and so comfortable and the surroundings beautiful. As a couple travelling with our grown up daughter Ellen had just the answer, a double room with an adjoining single (which was huge) so just perfect for us. A lovely full English breakfast with all the trimmings and a walk around the countryside finished off our stay. We really hope to return and spend longer here!!

Lovely, lovely! Thank you Ellen & Pete, we couldn't have stayed in a better place. As soon as Ellen opened the front door and we spoke, I thought, I like this lady. If anyone is looking for an excellent B & B, look no further, because Selby House is the one you need to book.......except the days we want! I am spreading the word back in Reigate!

Stayed in the family room for a couple of nights (early April 2015).
The B and B itself is a charming old house, spotlessly clean, in a quiet location.
The reception we received from the owners was welcoming and friendly, plus a 1st class breakfast.
Great central location for Somerset and Devon (just a few miles from Wellington / Taunton).
There is also a spacious holiday cottage available for longer stays.

The hosts here, Ellen and Pete, are just fantastic. A perfect balance of availability and being left alone. We've stayed in the B&B (2010) and more recently in the self catering cottage; both get a 5 star review. Wonderful rural location with Wellington only a five minute drive away. We stayed in the cottage over Easter weekend with our children (18, 3 and 9 months). Will definitely stay again. Thanks Ellen and Pete!
