Just returned from a 3 night reunion at this hotel, the evening meals were amazing. Breakfast not as good as it could of been, but the staff were lovely. Hotel a little tired looking now, From sofas in conservatory to bedrooms, but new owners just taking over so who knows, lots of weddings done here was a bit of a problem Saturday night as our party was asked to be quiet as service was taking place in the next room. Needs to accompany all guest.

Room tip: Rooms at the front were warmer

The hotel online looked very good, however that was not what we found.
The room had a strange smell in it and we had to open the window on arrival. The furniture was very dated but the room was clean. The bathroom appeared clean but when you walked in the floor tiles you could feel your shoes stick to them. The price we paid was very reasonable but there is room for improvement.

Stayed here for one week in June. Hotel is located in St. Alsaph in North Wales. It is on a very busy commuter road so from the advertised pictures it looks different in real life. Hotel was hosting a wedding on a Sunday when we arrived so were told we had to order food only after 6 and it would have to be in one specific area. Most hotels have separate areas for wedding parties but this one seemed to take over the hotel and music was being played loudly until midnight on a Sunday night. It was impossible to get decent sleep due to the guest noise and slamming doors. Food menu is incredibly limited. Either expensively priced dishes that don’t come with accompaniments ie fish with beans but no salad. No accommodating for gluten free or healthy options. It was inconvenience to ask for a balanced meal - protein - carbs and starch. Had to send first meal back as it arrived with salad which had turned and wasn’t fit for consumption. Room was ok needs updating and when the windows are open the busy road outside starts with traffic around 6am. Went to the pool area but didn’t use as it requires updating fixtures were old and worn. Didn’t seem clean. I feel this hotel is inbetween management handover as only staff present were bar staff and the receptionist. It could be a lovely venue if refurbed and strong management presence as there is a lovely conservatory on the side of the hotel. Really didn’t live up to any potential or expectation. I definitely wouldn’t return for a visit.

Room tip: Nothing I could recommend.

Arrived one evening to a grumpy receptionist, not made us feel unwelcome. No "Good evening, welcome to ....have you had a good journey" . I was allocated a deluxe room which was on the side of the hotel overlooking the car park and the ugly looking shipping container. Simply screen and planting would help this.
Used the hotel pool which overlooked the poly tunnel and unloved garden. The changing rooms are not very inviting. When we asked the receptionist why so unloved she explained they were redeveloping the area. Put up a sign to explain this - then guests know whats going on.
The restaurant and bar staff were very friendly and a real credit to the hotel along with the chef as we ate there on both evenings and the food was really superb. Breakfast was very good also but the room is bit soul less. Needs good background music.
This hotel is just crying out for a little TLC in some areas, and a injection of passion in some departments.

Room tip: Mine at the side was okay, few car doors slamming late/early
