We completed our PADI Advanced Course at The Blue Orchid Resort a few days ago and it was a great experience. Our instructors Emily and Matt were professional and brilliant at teaching us and pointing out things to us that we wouldn't have otherwise seen. The course was well structured and the equipment good compared to other rental equipment we've used in the past. The resort itself is in a quiet location but only a few minutes walk from White Beach (best in Moalboal). Panagsama Beach is only a short tricycle ride if you do want a bit more liveliness. Although we didn't stay here, we did spend quite a lot of time here during our dive days and all the staff were friendly and helpful. The whole resort had really nice relaxed feeling - exactly what you need when on holiday! The food was also really nice. We would recommend The Blue Orchid Resort to anyone and would definitely stay here if we ever returned to Moalboal.

Hi Nick, thanks for your kind words! We are so pleased to hear that you enjoyed your PADI Advanced Open Water Course with our onsite Instructors, congratulations to you both! You both did really well and nailed every dive - even the dreaded navigation dive!! We are glad to hear that you loved our location - we also think that White Beach is one of the most beautiful areas in Moalboal, and is great to have a short walk away. We really hope to see you both back at the resort in the future for more diving and happy hour drinks! All the best from The Blue Orchid team.

We absolutely loved our stay here, Steve and Michelle were fantastic hosts and really looked after us and booked all our activities, tricycles and transfers no problem at a competitive price.

The food was so good, definitely better anything else nearby in the town/Pangasan Beach. The location is a bit out the way from the above but it's right next to white beach which is way better and you have everything you need here at the hotel with a tricycle only 15 mins and 150 pesos.

The WiFi was temperamental but that's Philippines for you. But when it worked it was super quick! Hot showers, spacious room and even an upgrade to a beach front suite on arrival which was awesome!

Hi Matthew G, thank you so much for your wonderful review, we really appreciate it! It was a pleasure having the 3 of you here in the resort for a few days, and are pleased to hear that you enjoyed your sea view room. We agree that our location next to White Beach is fabulous - nice and tranquil, with easy access to a sandy beach which is not so common in the Moalboal area. We will pass on the kind words about the food to our kitchen staff, they work hard to prepare delicious food and a great job. Thanks again Matthew, we look forward to seeing you again in the future!

Our fun packed stay at Blue Orchid Resort was definitely an unforgettable one. Not only did we scuba dive for the first time but we got to swim with turtles which was our ultimate dream. At first it was a little nerve racking but Steve, Emily and Julie were amazing instructors and introduced us gently into the underwater world. The resort itself had a super relaxed vibe and was run by the most friendly and helpful staff. We spent most of our time in the small restaurant and bar area where we met new people and ate the most delicious food. Happy hour definitely didn’t go a miss with the free popcorn either!!! Our room was spacious and simple with beautiful attention to detail, not forgetting the balcony with its awesome ocean view. We will definitely visit Blue Orchid Resort again one day to do some additional dives. Ps. watch out for Esmeralda, she is definitely a character!

We stayed at this amazing hotel for 2 nights which were full of fun.
The staff is highly experienced and always available for help.
You can book organized day trip to Kawasan falls and Oslob (to swim with the whale shark).
The rooms are well equipped with beautiful view.
The food and drinks are lovely and 24h available.
And above all of this, I can't forget the scuba diving experience which is absolutely a MUST, and if you wish to make it more special just try it with the amazing professional instructor couple - Emily and Mat.

Just back from a week's diving holiday, and it was fantastic.

Mat, Emily, Steven and Michele are all very hands-on in running the show. It felt like a family run resort. In fact, all the staff members are very friendly and willing to do what it takes to make your stay comfortable.

There are great dive sites within 20 minutes boat ride from the resort. 2 dives a day over 5 days covered pretty much all the nice dive sites in the vicinity, from the amazing Sardeen run to the plane wreck. Colorful corals, turtles, a variety of nudibranchs, steep walls and an underwater cave - it's all there. To top it up, we got greeted by Dolphins on one of the dives - icing on the cake.

Usually, people come there for shorter stays, mostly couples. The food is decent (portion size, price, and taste) and happy hours run each day of the week :) It takes close to 30 minutes to reach the nearest town on a uniquely Phillipino tricycle. Expect a bumpy ride.

Would I go there again? Yes.

Room tip: nearly all rooms are sea facing, opt for an airconditioned room preferably, in the newer wing

Hi PankajDev, thank you so much for your excellent review of our resort! We had an excellent time taking you to all of the beautiful dive sites around Moalboal, and are so pleased to hear that you enjoyed the diversity of sites in the area. We agree that the sardine run and airplane wreck are must-see locations. And dolphins make the whole experience even more special! It was also great to share stories with you both in the evenings over a happy hour drink or two - we hope to get the chance to do the same again in the future! Kindest regards, The Blue Orchid Team.
