Ambar Beach resort definitely need an massive improvement, 1. Accommodation refurbishments - Hotel rooms needs an upgrade, experienced old crappy equipped room, door lock opened itself randomly, bath scratched, smelly shower curtain, ugly towels broken shower door. 2. Hotel facilities upgrade in general. The pictures of this hotel does not reflect the present. Pool waterfalls worked only one day, Outside bubble bath in big pool worked only on one side, greasy pool etc. Outside building, experienced falling concrete on my head while having a drink and many more issues. 3. All staff including management need to have proper re-training how to serve a customers in 4 star hotel accommodation. Have seen not very happy staff, a lot of moaning, even elderly grumpy waiter moaned to me on the morning that I should sit in other table as this one is served for more than 2 people.. And many unpleasant comments. Animators is a complete different story, They were trying, but it was a chaotic try to amaze customers, ( I did not see them for most of the day, they worked just 2 - 3 hrs daily and evenings - what a lovely job - do almost nothing) The beauty manager, been just walking trough the complex giving the wide smile to every one, and once we have asked for advise, or asked why the hotel do not provide bottled water, if guests go for a trip for example, we have received very defensive response Hotel does not do this service! Go and buy your drink in the shop in the second floor. They still using an old leaflets which are misleading as the prices has recently increased for few bits. I am not sure why this hotel keeps the 4 stars, as per my subjective opinion it should be either massively improved or get back to the lower level. And the most annoying fact is, they are focusing to the French majority guests which is quite not business worth to be one side blind. Well, on the end we have enjoyed the Fuerteventura's lovely beaches, trips even met people from my city of origin living there, who even knew my parents , :D hilarious experience. Kat & Robert

We booked this hotel last minute, just a few days before the flight. When we arrived we were welcomed by the reception staff who explained a few things beforehand and then gave us a flyer with all the other informations.
We had a beautiful room with sea view. The room was big and we even had a bathtub and a shower. Overall we were very happy with our room.

The food was good, nothing spectacular. Normal all-in food. Of course you could find food from lunch in different ways in your dinner but i don't think that's necessarily a bad thing, at least they don't throw it away if it's still good food.
The hotel wasn't booked out so the pool area was always quite empty. You could always find a sunbed and swim in peace.

The way down to the beach is a little tricky. Partly you just walk on sand-paths but we had no problem with that. On your way down you will meet a lot of chipmunks which are very trusting and will come near you. Especially if you have food with you. The beach is beautiful and you have a great view.

The only slight problem we had was that we didn't speak any french. Most of the staff does speak english, but the entertainment was always in french.
Guests and hotel staff always tried to include us which was very nice.

Overall we had a nice holiday and would definitely recommend this hotel if you speak french. It's just more fun to participate in anything if you actually understand.

This is a gem of a place! Do not listen to any bad reviews! All inclusive is exactly what it says, the food isn't amazing but the fresh fruit and choice was great! Alcohol included, beautiful beach, a steep walk back up so keep that in mind, well worth the walk though! All staff were brilliant, friendly, extremely hard working and going the extra mile to make this short break memorable! I am from the UK and most guests were French and so nice, included me in everything they did and I've definitely made some new friends!! The building is beautiful and the scenery is stunning!! It's sad to read the bad reviews as this resort and it's staff do not deserve that! Thank you Ambra for an amazing trip!

Arrived @ hotel on Xmas eve to be told everything shut staff off for the night.
Reception were very rude to me.No water no bar no food! I booked a room for a disabled person on the phone direct with reception however I was allocated a room half way down a steep hill.
Restraunt food was inedible. Reception staff inept. Forget the spa it's a kids playground because it's the only warm pool! All inclusive drinks are watered down. The beach is down a dangerous volcanic rubble path 500+ meters! It was more like a building site.
The accommodation was very worn & tired. Dirty water coming out of shower.
I booked for two weeks & decided it was so disgusting to grab a flight back home after just 4 days!!!!! The swimming pools were dirty, freezing cold, flies everywhere around the pool. Loude booming music played on huge speakers day & night. Kids entertainment encouraging kids to run around the pools, adult quizzes with staff standing on plastic chairs screaming questions to 99% French guests behaving like animals!
I booked this hotel to get some r&r particularly knowing there was a spar which turned out to be non existent with not enough staff to run it.
Oh & the hotel shop has the rudest woman running it!
The final cork in the bottle was the cockroaches turning up everywhere!!!!!!!
This is THEE worst hotel I have ever stayed in! Take my advice & give it a wide birth.

My friend and arrived at reception to be told go eat and drink come back later . When we went back we were told hotel was over booked and they found an alternative hotel 5 min taxi ride . We were told we would be there from Sunday until Tues . Our alternative hotel was lovely though the view from our room was awful . We checked out 12 noon on Tues taxi back to Amber only to be told they still have no room for us . We made friends with another couple who returned on Tues and got a room . We were being sent back to the other hotel again , we said we did not want the same room and were promised an upgrade courtesy of the Director of Amber . We were told this was our accommodation for remainder of our holiday. We checked in and were told we had to have same room till the next day . Once again we packed checked out moved room unpacked only to be told we had to check out on the sat as they were fully booked too . We met friends for lunch at Amber and were very disappointed with the cafeteria can't say it was a dining room , the food was awful , the drinks at bar were disgusting the service was poor . The entertainment team only spoke French when I asked if they cater for English speaking guests I was told no as there clientele was mainly French so we had to endure a comedy night in French . We then had to check out our room on Sat and stayed one night at Amber the room was nice but we were very disappointed having only 3 whole days out of 7 of our holiday as the rest of time was spent packing and checking out . We were not the only ones to have went through this bad experience there were at least another 6 people in same boat that we know of . Will never go back to Amber actually won't be going back to fuerteventura.
Alternative hotel was by far better than Amber , there were mostly German guests but the entertainment team were great and spoke good English and involved us every day/night .
The dining room was lovely with a nice atmosphere, food was much better quality than Amber .
The drinks much better too .
The beach was easier to access .
Staff very friendly and made us very welcome . Thank you Paraiso Playa for making our holiday tolerable and giving us a room.
