We booked a table for a business meal and were 100% happy with the service, food and ambiance. The restaurant was fully booked so it is a good idea to reserve a table well in advance.
House-made bread and 2 different butters were served as well as very tasty "amuse bouche" before our starters arrived. The service was swift and polite and we felt very welcome as guests. We are planzig to return to have more of their excellent asparagus and local wine.

Stayed there a night on a business trip.

The room was OK for the money. A bit basic perhaps and not overly good maintained. The sink had a serious damage and there was no soap available in the bathroom.

The room was clean.

On your way to the room you pass several locations where they store spare beds and other stuff you don't want to see in the open.

The worst experience was the breakfast. The food offered was more than ok and worth the price payed. Problem was that the room was full of craftsmen being away for a construction job. Nothing against them in general but they were all friends, they made a lot of noise and they all were at breakfast with their workwear on. Some of them really dirty. The atmosphere was like I imagine it in a canteen of an oil-rig.

The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful.

Dear Jochen,

thank you for your comments following your recent stay at the Hotel Krone. Feedback from our guests is the best way to improve our performance constantly and to increase customer satisfaction. Therefore we appreciate your honest review, the positive and the critical aspects, very much.

As a privately owned hotel we focus on an individual and professional service. Our ultimate goal always is to offer our guests a pleasant stay with us in a welcoming ambiance. It is sad to read that we could not meet all your expectations accordingly.

We thank you for mentioning that you liked the helpful service, the clean room and our fresh breakfast selection. However, we see that there were two things which you wonder about:

The atmosphere in the floors due to items standing around and the feeling of being in a canteen during the breakfast. Whilst your stay in March we were giving a little face lift our hotel and had constructions going on. We do understand that the presence of pieces of furniture and craftsmen reduced the feeling of being in a 4-stars-hotel.

We truly regret this exceptional situation and would be thrilled to welcome you again at the Hotel Krone in order to prove that we can do better.

Please do not hesitate to get in touch for us for any further questions or concerns.

We accidentally were staying over in December as we had a flat tire on the highway. I have to say it was a very pleasant surprise, friendly reception, spacious, warm room, comfortable bed with a nice pillow. We had a good night sleep as the area is very quiet. Clean and well-equipped bathroom with a big tub and hairdryer. As we arrived at dinner time and the restaurant looked busy and amazing we decided to have dinner there. They had a wide range of typical food including soups, fish and meat dishes but for a very high price for my taste.

A lovely setting in the picturesque hills near the Swiss border. Top service in relaxed setting. I recommend the clams and lamb and veal were superb. We will return here when we are in the locality. The hotel even organised a car to take us home free of charge. That is wonderful service.

Stayed here last year for one night on the way from UK to Italy. Excellent hotel, easy to find. The evening meal was simply superb. Probably one of the meals we have ever had in Germany. Beautifully cooked, and the little amuse-bouche of fried river crayfish was sensational. If you are in the area, this hotel is definitely not to be missed. The rooms are equally good, well-furnished and comfortable.
