Just had a week at the hotel for some winter sun on the all inclusive package. We had a deluxe room and it was too a real high standard, good quality modern furniture, sea view and cleaned to a high standard every day. It had a balcony with a table and two chairs but because the grounds are so nice we didn't really make use of it. The bathroom wasn't quite as excellent as the room but still really good with dual sinks just not a separate shower/bath. That's probably a personal preference rather than a must have though.

The food, even on the all inclusive was really good. The selection was excellent and there was plenty of variety through the the week so we never got bored. Of particular note was the cheese and cold meats selection which were amazing! We mostly stuck to the beer and wine which were both better than your average all inclusive! We didn't eat in the one on site Al a carte restaurant but with the choice nearby we didn't need to.

The views from the whole of the hotel were great and the bar is a really excellent spot for sunset. The main pool was quite large, immaculate and cleaned to perfection daily.

The location of the hotel is good but because it's up the hill and away from the beach it feels further away than it is. However within a 15 minute walk there are numerous beaches, bars and restaurants! There is also a free bus to the beach which we didn't use. There are a number supermarkets close by.

The hotel runs 3-4 activities a day mostly by the pool. My wife did 3 of the pool based aqua sessions and these were good. The local area is really good for running. There was music in the main bar every night and something to suit every taste. No cabaret or magicians here!

We would recommend this hotel for adults and couple's, it does have facilities for kids but there are probably more suitable places.

All of the staff were really great, helpful and polite!

Some minor niggles that stopped use giving 5 stars:

Sunloungers - half way through the week the staff took away half of the sunloungers by the pool which made getting one a case of getting up early!

In room services - the maid service didn't seem to include topping up the tea, coffee, milk and sometimes the minibar. We chased this up and got some extra coffee once but it really wasn't clear what was included and what wasn't.

Noise - a very minor issue but being in the main building as opposed to one of the separate lower level rooms meant there was lift, cleaning, guest noise fairly continuously!

We would definitely return and opt for one of the rooms with its own, or shared terrace.

Are friends book a holiday for us all directly with the hotel in January for an 11 night stay in October in the Level. Which I might add very expensive, we were all very much looking forward to this trip having read the good reviews.
Firstly on arrival to the hotel having waited at least 1.5hrs to check in, we were informed that the rooms we had booked in the Level way back in January were not available! Apparently some problem with humidity!!!!!!! We were shown to some rooms that over looked the main pool area. The rooms were ok, but just ok! They told us they would put in place all the things the Level have such as blue tooth speaker, coffee machine etc which I think all in all took about 3/4 days to get despite asking several times. The bathrooms were very poor, the shower was over the bath and not great! The robes would only fit a child. We felt like we had no option but to accept what they were offering! When we expressed our dissatisfaction we were offered all inclusive and free meals in the Italian restaurant. We visited the itallian once and that was enough!!! The food was appalling, it was actually better in the canteen!!!! Which is saying something. The pool at the Level was boring, over looked by all the rooms with no views! The choice of food in the Level was very limited so we ended up eating in the main restaurant for breakfast and going out of the hotel for main meal. We spent most of our days around the main pool, which was nice. The pool is very large, plenty of space. At the bar at the main pool they had one guy serving I felt so sorry for him he was clearly rushed of his feet and worked extremely hard. I can't remember his name but he was probably the only staff member that was pleasant and smiled. Around 4pm a pool attendant would come on duty (female) be warned she speaks to guests in a terrible way, very unhelpful and dam right rude.
The bed sheets were only changed once during our stay. The floor in the room was dirty and made your feet black. There were also small black creepy crawlies in our room.
I don't like leaving such negative But there wasn't much to be positive about. Needless to say we would not return to this hotel.

My girlfriend and I stayed in Melia Jardines del Teide for 1 week in November 2018 room 121. We really enjoyed the hotel. The staff were friendly and efficient, the room was spacious, modern and clean. The swimming pool was brilliant and the water was warm enough.
We had the all inclusive option so we had the opportunity to have all our meals inside. The food was quite good with a good choice of desserts.
However, there are very few vegetarian options and the laundry service is very pricey and slow.
Moreover, we were expecting the water bottles in the fridge to be included too, but we had to pay for some soft drinks at the check out.

On first impressions we were pleasantly surprised as the reception area is beautiful. I’ll start with the positives :-

Fantastic views
Clean with beautiful grounds
Warm heated pool
They must have an excellent baker as the bread and dessert choices were first class.
Excellent Halloween evening entertainment as this was up on the terrace.
Great activities for children with the foam party and many large pool inflatables.

Now, for us there were too many negatives to rate it any higher. Having stayed in many four star hotels and with this being our first stay at a five star we expected so much more.

Major flaw was the depth of the pool. We seriously couldn’t believe that there were no area where I couldn’t even touch the bottom. Having 2 children who weren’t 100% confident swimmers we couldn’t relax at all. They spent most of their times on the steps so they could play properly with friends. It says something when aqua gym instructors provided floats for the adults to wear! This needs addressing urgently.

Kids evening entertainment was set around the pool. The entertainment was fine but with the bar being hundreds of steps away (or 2 lifts away) it just didn’t work!

Food- pretty poor and after day 3 we dreaded going into the ‘canteen’ to feel dishearten by the lack of choice day after day. Most of the salads had meat in them which for vegetarians isn’t great. It was busy but we expected this as it was half term. However, it was evident that they were lacking the required number of staff to deal with demand. We have never queued to eat all inclusive before but on many occasions we were queuing out of the door!

The hotel itself doesn’t have an identity and seems to be unsure of who it caters for/attracts.

We have no idea how it got it’s five star rating. We normally stay in Zafrio or Viva hotels who have everything right. Melia you do have potential but need to address the pool depth and the quality of your food. It will be one holiday we will easily forget unfortunately.

Magnificent location, nice view.Not for guests who have difficulties with steps / walkingFriendly staffNice roomsIdeal if you have a rental car because the hotel is on top of a hill.Very nice swimming pool, but be carefull with little children because the pool is very deep, almost everywhere (1,60 meter and more)

Room tip: The bed was rather hard, you could feel the content of the matras.
