We booked this on the internet and the website looked good but we couldn't find many reviews so we waited with anticipation for our holiday in Dairymans Cottage.
We arrived late to the cottage and after a few simple directions from Sally found the cottage easily enough. We walked in and were very pleased with the accomodation on offer. Lovely kitchen, good living room, good two bedrooms one en-suite and a practical shower room. We were looking for a nice place to escape to and celebrate New Year and this place lived up to all our expectations.
Millmoor Farm is ideally placed for a number of attractions, has great surrounding walks, has good interactive farm life, Charlotte (11 years old) loved all the animals and David even took time out to show new lambs, the sheepdog pups, and explain a little about cattle. Sally showed us around the new development Drovers Barn I think which sleeps 7 and whilst there are no photos on the web yet I can assure you that this property certainly has the WOW factor.
Overall Millmoor Farm is fantastic, the accomodation is homely, comfortable, modern and well presented. Honestly give this farm a go its brilliant.
The cottage was a modern build on a working dairy farm. It was clean and very cosy - leather sofas, beautiful bed, nicely equiped kitchen and two bathrooms. Views from the cottage over the hills were lovely, we had pigs and chickens outside our door! The sheepdog Sam is a favourite with children and very friendly and gentle. Having a full sized fridge freezer was very useful in a self catering cottage, meant we could stock up at local Tescos and not have to worry about supermarket shopping for the rest of the week. Dairyman's cottage was a wonderful base for exploring Chester and the surrounding area, it really felt like we were returning home each night. We would highly reccomend Millmoor farm as top quality self catering accomadation.
