I choose Nan to go to as I did not want to stay in typical holiday towns in Thailand and by accident, I came across this holiday rental. It is as beautiful as the pictures show. Sunset is very spectacular and the hosts were very willing to share their knowledge of the area with me . If you are interested in visiting temples or exploring the nature around Nan and not want to be with a lot of "farangs" then this is a place to go. In the week I was there, I enjoyed the thai food in a lot of different restaurants(with prices ranging from dirt cheap to cheap for Western standards). At the riverside , there are many different restaurants with good quality food. Quite some have English menu's , some don't. Da Dario is a good Italian restaurant if you are in need of a pizza or pasta. As I am a vivd cyclist, I explored the nature around Nan on a bicycle and I really appreciated the interest of the local thai people. it really helps if you know some words in thai. For me, it was a wonderfull stay over there and will certainly come back.
