It almost felt like coming home...
My first visit at "Hôtel du Capitaine" was at the end of 1950's - and there were a few delightful returns since. This time was again a wonderful stay.
Caroline Desbiens - the Captain's daughter - is now the owner-manager and she does a good job of welcoming and entertaining her guests. Her singing adds to the charm of the place.
The room was cozy and had all the amenities to make one's stay comfortable and pleasant - a renovated bathroom with a fantastic shower, a comfortable bed with lots of beautiful soft furnishings, the warmth and beauty of wooden floors and authentic antique furniture, and the list goes on...
The food was very good and Sunday's breakfast was a notch above the usual. Along with Eggs Benedict, they serve their scrumptious "crêpe tourniquette" with REAL maple syrup - a unique and delicious pancake made famous by the Capitaine himself !
Highly recommended for a unique and special experience.More
