“2 nights at Awana Genting Hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 May 2012

We paid 171 USD for 2 nights at Awana Genting hotel, the room was quite big, it had two queen bed, I asked them for king bed but they said after renovation all rooms have two queen beds. The bath had bathhub which I loved it, the water flow was sooo good, it could go so hot until making steam room, I loved it, in fact we took shower 2-3 times a day, heaven compared to our condo in Seri kembangan, It was so refreshing, the shampoo and bath foam was provided but only one of each with small container, for us it was not sufficient, the goodthing was that the toothprush and toothpaste also provided. I likes towels, quite soft and absorby. The fridge was small however very good working, the TV was boring, just normal malayee channels and two commercial channels of four vision which can be found in every hotel. I loved the balkony, it was corner located so nobody could see the neighbour and It was very good for enjoying the view of golf yard. There was a lovely bench in bankony which we used for having tea and enjoying view. Everything looks nicer in that nice weather. Before we had been in Genting first word hotel but this time I think we enjoyed it more because it was not as crowded as first word hotel, the people were behaving better, we did not have to wait for half an hour to get to the parking unlike first word hotel. the paking was very convenience and easy, there was no security but seems safe, there was a board saying "do not leave valuable items at your car", so we cared about that. the hotel architecture was very similar to Awana Langkawi resort, the same resort feeling. I personally don't like complicated architectures, this one was a bit like that, for example We could see the pool but when want to go near, there was a sighn no entery, turn left same sign, turn right same sign, we had to go a round trip to find the pool entry and the change room was also hidden, I found it when comming back from the pool, hehehehe :)), It was funny. Same thing for gym, we tried to find it twice but didn't and got distracted with other things. We loved the garden of hotel, very nice environment with a big case for birds and rabbits, we fed them, it was lovely, lots of flowers and very fine weather. The hotel had shuttle bus for first word hotel, I should say compare to what is very usual in malaysia that people don't care about the time, here the buses were pretty ontime, maybe only 5 mins delay sometimes, they had bus for other destinations too. We had car but used buses, very convenient. The beakfast was very good, same as first word hotel or even better. we eat to drop. Very good quality food.

Room Tip: I think all of them are good, we were on 22nd floor, the higher, the cooler the weather, and less in...

Its so peace ful and natural that i loved it. I went there in 2008 and it was so good that i loved it.
The rooms are simple but if you go and live in those hotels in Genting then you cant escape the hussle bussle of genting highlands. Since Awana Genting is a few Kilo meters down genting its very very peace and surroounded by Lush Green Meadows and Mountains.Lovely.

The only downside is that you have to take the Shuttle service everyday to reach Genting but its free service provided by the hotel.

The breakfast was one of the best i have had in my life. I live there for 3 nights. Excellent.

A very good hotel and the service you get is also value for money. The rooms were very comfy, and the view from our 17th floor room was lovely. The whole valley was covered in mist and it was very cold also. There was a balcony in our room where we could sit and take in the breathtaking view. The buffet lunch and dinner in the Rajawali Restaurant is good if you are non-vegetarians, but the choice is limited for the vegetarians. But still you can leave with a full stomach. Unfortunately we couldn's stay for the breakfast, as we had to leave at 6 in the morning. But they packed a breakfast of cheese sandwiches which were very good, with lots of pepper, salt and sugar packets.

Ok, you are not going to Awana because of the hotel. You go because you either want to play golf or go to the casino.

The hotel, rooms, restaurant, facilities are all dated. Suspect was built in the 80ties.
Though the rooms are clean and big. They serve the purpose well for a night or two.

Breakfast is normal, nothing special and was very crowded on the weekend.

We tried the a la card meals in the "Flavour Cafe" - was a pleasant surprise.

At least staff was very helpful and friendly.

There is a shuttle bus in hourly interval to both the mountain top casino and the Skyway cable car. Which i though was actually quite a scenic ride (over the jungle with the Monkeys playing below). And for only 6 RM very reasonable.

Room Tip: Get a high floor one, you might be over the mist if you are lucky!

This is an excellent resort in terms of location, environment and services.

We booked for 2-room suite, initially i thought of asking for an extra bed for a family of 6, but the receiption arranged us with a unit that comes with a free sofa bed. Our master room are equiped with jacussi while the wall is foldable so we would have a large living room. What a great idea.

Breakfast not included but the cafe is serving a nice selection with reasonable price.

A nice surprise is the warm (not really heated but maintain at 28c-30c) open spa at cold weather (18c - 25c). Free suttle-bus to cable-car station is a plus point.

The hotel is currently upgrading some of the rooms and we are lucky to have a newly furnished room. Please insist on 'new furnished room' if possible.
