we booked this hotel as everything else was sold out and the pics online looked good. our group of 7 adults and 1 toddler arrived here with ease.it is comfortably located in between lush oak and pine trees. far enough from the mall road to avoid the noise and the crowds and close enough to enable a 7 minute walk to the lake.perfect location with clean ,cold and refreshing winds.from the outside the hotel looks like a peppy youth hostel oozing with colour and energy.the owners who themselves reside on the top most floor are well cultured ,warm and very helpful.the rooms look good with trendy furniture and bright walls. though deceptively small the deluxe room surprizingly accomodates an extra bed rather well. room service is absolutely excellent. anything you ask for arrives quickly. be it tea, food ,towels or any number of buckets of water . yes thats the real problem-water-there isnt any in the bathrooms! forget hot water even cold running water in the toilets is not available most of the time! the bell boys are often seen in the narrow corridors supplying buckets of water to guests. also most of the toilet fittings are broken or missing.you have to make do with mug and bucket at the Aroma hotel! and the owners have a million excuses about the water and the bathroom fittings. very sorry affair in that regard. however if you could get passed the bathroom issues, the trees and the winds invite you to welcome cups of hot ginger tea in the chirpy corridors that open directly to the oak forests. the walk around this hotel is an absolute delight. you hear only birds and monkeys and love romancing the nature.and yes ... the food..... absolutely mouth-wateringly delicious!!!must try the butter chicken and the tandoori chicken and the mutter paneer. that would definitely take some steam off from the bathroom problems. we eventually had to change our hotel after a stay of 2 nights as most members of our group did need regular running water in the bathrooms. another plus point is that this hotel offers parking facility for your vehicle which is a rarity in all budget hotels in nainital. if only they could improve on their water and loo situation!!!!
