Having been to many other venues in the Greek islands, overall we'd felt that we've previously been spoilt.
Villa Lemon has a central location to other parts of Corfu. The directions from the airport provided by the host were fantastic. It's an easy short drive. There is a nearby supermarket that has everything you will need during your stay.
A car is essential. There is apparently one walkable hotel nearby that we didn't visit.
The villa itself is within neighbouring villas, three of which share the pool. We stayed for eight nights and never saw anyone else at the pool, so had exclusive use.
Unfortunately on our day of arrival the weather was very wet and windy. Thereafter the weather was beautiful, very hot and sunny.
Consequently, day 2 the pool was covered in leaves from the surrounding gardens. The leaves from the surface of the pool were removed, however the debris at the bottom of the pool remained.
There were plenty of sunbeds surrounding the pool area and 2 umbrellas. On the side was left an inflatable shark and a deflated shark.
It has a shower area. Whilst we were aware that some attention had been paid to the surface leaves, the sunbeds needed attention, and only one of the two umbrellas were functional.
The deflated shark was there for the duration of our stay.
Sorry but the pool was uninviting and therefore we never ventured into it.
During the stay the pool lights never came on after sunset.
Each villa has its own private garden. At the side of our garden, just by the advertised 'bar be que area' was a fenced off, lovely old dog. It had all the necessary facilities and was well fed and watered. It became apparent that the dog was regularly visited to provide food and water. This person would come through to our garden to access the dog. Not that we had any problem with that, but found it strange that we weren't informed.
The gardens are lovely but in need of some attention. The grass was overgrown and the bushes and conifers are in need of trimming back.
The bar be que area has a lovely grill and a plastic table nearby. No chairs or unbrella. We chose not to use it.
Outdoor seating is available. A good size table and 6 very comfortable chairs. It catches the morning, afternoon and early evening sun.
When we're away we like to eat outdoors. Sadly, this was marred by wasps and flies. So eating outdoors was not possible. We discovered that the surrounding trees nested the wasps. I guess can't be helped.
The villa design is beautiful, although somewhat obscure. I understand the host is the creator of the villa and is very proud of Corfu Construction.. He has it printed on the pillow cases and towels.. BTW only white towels are provided. You need to take your own pool / beach towels.
Also had his potfiolio construction history and achievements in the lounge area. An interesting read.
The front door is round the back. The kitchen facilities has everything that is necessary (mind your head on the hob hood).
There is a double bed downstairs bedroom and what was advertised as a downstairs shower room. The picture we saw was not the one in Villa Lemon. It is a toilet with a sink and an open shower. Only big enough for a small child or a foot shower.
Upstairs is accesssible by a spiral staircase (not conducive for the elderly or infirm) It has a double bedroom, with ensuite bathroom consisting of a bath with shower and shower curtain. The shower curtain is due for change. It has mould on the bottom as is not unusual but needs attention.
Outside the bedroom there are 2 balconies . Nice design but practically not conducive for general use.
Recommended nearby places to visit - beach Govia, lovely beachside restaurants. Ipsos, beautiful beachside view. Agios Gordios, worth a visit, Corfu old town a must do. The monastery at the highest point. Tricky to get to but worth it.
Don't leave out Mouse island.
A lovely villa quiet and peaceful, ideal for the four of us . Central location so easy to get to anywhere on the island, although a car is a must. Theodoros and Alex were really good host's. Would recommend ,as we found the villa both value for money and the pool was ideal.
Lovely place and we had it all to ourselves. Alex was amazing - met us at the airport with hire car at about 5.30am and deal with any issues that came up - no hesitation in coming over to help out if required. The house was spacious with lovely gardens and great facilities. Just perfect for a family and great base for exploring the island. Had some issues with electrics and Wi-Fi in the first 2 days but Alex promised to fix it and did so no complaints as outside their control. Great value and would definitely go again. Next time would like to take two other families so we could have a bigger group...
We have now stayed 3 times in Lemon Villa (2013, 2014 and 2016). each time for 2 weeks in June. The house, garden and pool are all very attractive and we had everything we could possibly need. The beds are firm and comfortable and there is a constant supply of hot water (you are not reliant on the sun shining in order to heat the water) and clean towels. The owners, Theodoros and Dora, are very kind and hospitable and the manager, Alexander, is very friendly and helpful.
The position of the villa is perfect. It's in a tiny quiet place called Poulades, but it's really only 5 minutes from Gouvia and 15 minutes from Corfu town, so there is no shortage of places to eat, but a car is a must.
In the daytime we visited beautiful resorts such as Kassiopi, Paliocastritsa and Agios Georgios Pagi. There are so many beautiful places to see, within a 1 hour radius.

From the moment we landed at Corfu airport all worries were forgotten.
we were met by Alexander a kind and very helpful rep who sorted out our car and gave us perfect directions to villa. We found it not problem-- a first for us!!
upon reaching villa we had a very pleasant surprise at how modern and spacious it was.
The pool is lovely with plenty of high quality sunbeds and parasols.
There is a secure gate with a driveway leading to villa,
All amenties were provided..
Alexander came over to make sure everything was ok and brought clean linen and towels.
Booking and all other information through Theodoros was also stress free and simple.
Corfu is a lovely island and the villa is just down the road from Gouvia were there are numerous bars and restruants and a shingle beach with sunbeds and beachside cafes.
All in all this was one of the best holidays we have been on and have already booked for next year!
