Sucuraj is a Dalmatian village located at the very South end of the Island of Hvar. It is also a ferry harbor, which makes it somewhat busy during summer months. However, most of the ferry passengers just pass through Sucuraj on the way to other, much more popular destinations on the Island of Hvar.
Again, Sucuraj is a tiny village, but nevertheless, it has couple of grocery stores, few coffee shops and 3-4 restaurants. But no loud clubs. Just enough for a quiet family vacation :)
Apartments "Jadranka" are owned and run as a family business, and it all works pretty well in that sense. Mrs Jadranka offered us a welcome drink when we arrived, all tired from a trip. Nice touch.
Rooms are spacious enough (except for a really small bathroom), adequately furnished. Small kitchenette and dining table are also there, but we still had our lunches at the balcony table, as the dining room table was too small. A/C and satellite TV set are the standard. Rooms are kept clean (big thanks to a hard working maid). Fresh fish and home made wine is offered to guests for dinner (at acceptable price). We enjoyed that. [beware that the wine has different price, depending whether you take it to your room or drink it with your dinner].
The closest beach (just 50m away from the apartments) is nothing to write home about, but there are some really nice beaches not so far away (you will have to use your car, though).
It was a nice & quiet family vacation. Owner's hospitality is definitely the biggest selling point here.
