The Denzong Regency hotel in Gangtok is a charming place to stay in during a visit to Sikkim. It's spacios rooms have fine wooden furniture and a lovely balcony opening to panoramic views of the Eastern Himalayas on clear days. Food is quite good in the ethnically decorated restaurant. Most importantly go to this hotel for the fantastic ambience.

You do not feel you are in a hotel. All staff are courteous. Cannot find a single fault.

Great brand, good food, very sophisticated. A little expensive. Not such a good location.

We visited hotel in first week of December, but as it was welcome heritage group hotel, we assume it to be good. But we were wrong.

We stayed in a deluxe room of hotel after tiring 4 hour taxi journey at around 4 pm and we were surprise to see that there is no hot water in the tap and that to in cold season. We were informed that hotel served hot water from 7-9 in morning & evening only & we were offered bucket of water( which normally small hotel/lodge doo). But when we opened the tap it came in to our hand & bathtub started leaking. Any the day went like that only, we were offered a room which was in basement (even though whole hotel was empty) which we didn't take as it was very scary to live there with a kid.
Next morning we waited for hot water till 8.00 am and after informing for same they switch on the hot water but water was full of mud and no one can take bath in dirty water. Balcony door does not have handle to pull the door you have to use latch for the same.
Anyway Food was good and we enjoy the same.
3rd day also we didn't got hot water.
I will not recommend anyone to stay in this hotel till they have 24 hr clean hot water connectivity & they have trained staff & good manager to mange small things.
