This is a magnificent temple! It is an ancient temple that predates even the presence of French rule in Puducherry. Lord Ganesha is the main deity of the Mankula Vinayagar Temple. The presiding deity of the temple is seated on a Golden Chariot made from teak wood and adorned with gold rings, creating an intricate design on the chariot. 7.5 kilograms of gold are used to make the chariot In addition to Ganesha, the temple also houses the idols of several other important gods and goddesses such as Shri Krishna, Muruga, Shiva, Parvati, and many others. This temple is known for its beautiful wall paintings of Hindu mythological Gods and Goddesses. This temple is clean and well maintained. Other than that, there is also an elephant Lakshmi that blesses people with her trunk every day from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM in the evening. . As we travel through Tamil Nadu, this is our first stop as we travel south. No entry fee is charged for visitors to visit this temple. Timings for the temple are: 5:45 am - 12:30 pm and 4:00 pm - 9:30 pm
