Having stayed in the superb CGH Group Spice Village resort, our expectations were quite high for this hotel however unfortunately there do not seem to be consistent standards in the CGH Group e.g. whilst Spice Village provided refrigerators, tea and coffee making facilities and accepted American Express cards, Maison Perumal did none of these. However these shortcomings were more than compensated by the “can do” attitude of all the wonderful staff who very quickly provided an ice bucket and offered to supply boiling water in an insulated canister.
We ate lunch at the hotel shortly after our arrival and the food was good with outstanding service. Both the food and service at breakfast were outstanding since there was no buffet and all the food including the wonderful fruit all tasted though it was prepared to order and still our breakfasts took no more time than the usual buffet.
Our room was ‘heritage’ which is not really our preferred style but it was spotlessly clean and functional apart from the aforementioned.More
