Those who manage and created it must be appreciated. The museum gives a highlight of thiru bharathiyar's personal and literary endeavors. Though it's clean and compact in size I wish they had maintained and refurbished his home in it's old form( which is shown in one of the exhibits) . Nevertheless it's nice to see this place well maintained. It would nice if they can make audio exhibits of his works, afterall it's my humble request.

Subramanya Bharathi was a Tamil poet & a patriot. He had to flee British India due to his activities against the foreign rulers & arrived in Pondicherry in 1908 as a fugitive. He composed some of the finest patriotic & romantic compositions.

He built his home here which has been later converted in to a museum honoring him & has become a place of pilgrimage for all Tamil followers.

Wish even more was made available in English. Barathi was an incredible writer with very progressive ideas (on women, on caste, on colonial oppression). We all can still learn from him. Set in his former home, some effort is made to communicate his place in history (includes info on his contemporaries/friends, including Aurobindar Singh), using documents and photographs. Closed Mondays/holidays, and from 1-2pm.
