“The best holiday ever”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 March 2012 via mobile

The Aegean Village is a beautiful resort set in the rural part of Kardamena. It is built upon a hillside which is great in terms of views, they are spectacular. My boyfriend and I stayed in the highest rooms which were great, we were slightly on the side of the hill which meant that incoming air crafts were really loud and were always quite frequent. If you struggle with walking then it is probably best that you inquire about a lower room (it is such a walk to the top). However a shuttle bus does run pretty much 24/7 which takes guests to their rooms. Food was nice, a little repetitive, and staff were pleasant and professional. The poolside was always clean and tidy, as were the rooms. Maid service came daily around midday. As mentioned before by other reviewers, it is a bit of a treck to the resort centre, and at night can be quite dangerous because the path sometimes stops and becomes uneven, sometimes it even fizzles out to a dirt track which on the main road can seem a little hazardous. Kardamena is good for shops and bars, at night it is based around party goers really. i highly recommend this resort and hotel to anyone!

Booked the Aegean with mixed thoughts as the reviews on here vary. However, as soon as we pulled up to the hotel frontage we knew that we had made the right choice! Everyone on our coach gasped in awe and we heard some people say they wished they were staying there!

Our room was about half way up the complex which we thought was pretty perfect. Spectacular views, a little walk up from the main hotel but not too far! And after a feast at dinner the walk is needed! The room itself was fantastic, we had a blue themed room whilst our friends had a red themed room (preferred the blue!). Extremely spacious, lots of storage and the bathroom was gorgeous (we want to base ours on its decor!).

The hotel grounds are well maintained and very pleasing to look at. The pool area is huge, plenty of sunbeds although there are times later in the day that it can be difficult to get a few together. We found the 'animation' team hilarious at first, slightly annoying by the end of the first week and so sad that we would never see then perform 'oupa oupa' again after the last rendition on our last day (a Greek song which they dance to 3 times throughout the day!).

We LOVED the food, but I guess this depends on individual tastes. My boyfriend pretty much eats anything and so he was in heaven. I am very fussy but could always find something to enjoyable to eat!

The town of Kardamena is about a 20 minute walk away which we didn't mind doing most nights, it's a lovley walk along the beach front! Speaking of the beach, it is literally across the road from the hotel so we did visit it most days and went for a refreshing dip in the gorgeous Aegean Sea!

We absolutely loved stayimg here, so much so that we have decided to get married in Kos in 2012 and will be staying here again if we can!

I stayed at the Aegean village with my wife and ten year old daughter in July 2011. All I can really say is that it was a lovely place to stay. The staff were very helpful, food was excellent and the hotel was first rate. The Animation team kept our daughter entertained for hours each day, which meant my wife and I could take time out to relax. Cleanliness was again first rate. If your not the energetic type, try to get a room on one of the lower levels. If you don't mind a trek stay at the higher levels as the views are impressive. In any case a regular shuttle will transport you to your accommodation any time of the day or night, A car is great to get around this small island as there are some fantastic beaches. Magic beach was superb, but it might be worth noting that a section of it is nudist. Great taverna on the cliff tops is worth a visit. All in all a thoroughly enjoyable experience and would recommend to anyone, with or without children

Room Tip: If your reasonably fit opt for a room at high level.

Sorry I am a bit late doing my review.. traveled end Sept 2011

We returned to the Aegean Village this year knowing the hotel had had a re-furb since our last visit, but where not prepared for what we found.

we opened the door to our room to find not just a re-furb but a complete makeover, gone was the Greek village style furniture and in with the International modern look, but not just the furniture, new windows & doors, new tiles to the floor, and a complete new bathroom, But not only our room, but as we walked around the hotel we didn’t find one area which had not seen some form of re-furbishment,

Housekeeping we could not fault, everywhere was clean and inviting,

Food is still a mix of Greek and international with ample choice, well prepared and presented

location of course hasn't changed, its still 1.5k to the centre of the village with stupendous views across the Aegean sea to Nissaros.

The staff are well chosen, with a mix of many old friends and new, all smartly turned out and professional at their respective jobs.

entertainment... the Hotel has an animation team catering for children and adults, they appeared to work hard and enjoy their jobs [cant comment on actual entertainment as we did not partake]

This establishment doesn’t have a star rating as it is an apart-hotel [grade A],tour operators offer it as 4 to 5 on their own rating scale.Having been to many hotels around Greece I would have to say it is on par with most of the 4+ and 5 star hotels we have used .

Being Regular travellers to Greece we can highly recommend this hotel, and look forward to further visits in the future..

Room Tip: All rooms are similar in style and most have a great view [if you want a view ask for a room above 3...
