The butter service is very good, he looked after us 24/7. The dinner in the cellar was special. Breakfast is good. If you like to get away from the city and relax you will enjoy it.Suite with jacuzzi and private garden is very luxurious, comfy bed.

Room Tip: Luxury suite with hot tub and private garden.

We stayed in the Makhato lodge 7. Lodges are spacious and clean. They are thoughtfully supplied with kitchenware, braai wood and even wine at an extra of R60. The surrounding area has gorgeous walking and cycling trails were you are likely to bump into a bok, zebra or a warthog. The main are has pool, ranger walks, animal sanctuary: the kids have loads to keep them occupied. I also enjoy their spa. Highly recommended.

We visited Sondela with a group of people. The majority stayed in the chalets whilst my husband and I chose to stay in the lodge. Brogan and Elna couldn't do enough for us to make us welcome and they certainly helped us to celebrate our anniversary too. It was far enough away from the children's area and spa so you couldn't hear them, but only a 2 minute walk away if you did want to visit!

Room Tip: Only a few to choose from but they all looked good

First visit to Sondela. Stayed in Makhato 97. Upon arrival found braai inside house not cleaned and couldn’t open patio door that leads to boma. Reported both issues. Had two separate visits from staff within and hour, but sadly, none of our issues were resolved. Also, reported an issue with the septic tank, via whatsapp to the emergency number. Message was read, again without any response. Appeal of Sondela is its close proximity to Pretoria, which is unfortunately negated by the disappointingly poor service levels we experienced during this past weekend.
