What can I say, from my travel agency group I think I had one of the best looking for the price. I've spent 7 nights here for my honey moon. The location is amazing, right across the main path near the beach (10 meters). Don't think you're in the town with those houses on the rocks or blue churches, this is in Kamari not in Oia or Fira. Although you can find some attractions nearby like Ancient Thira. Prices for food around are very good for an island, with 30-40 euros you can eat and drink for 2 persons. There are plenty of shops and supermarkets nearby also.

The pool was also ok, as it had enough depth (2.2m). During the breakfast you can admire the sunset as you can eat at their tavern on the beach. Also if you eat there during dinner the beach beds are free. The food is excellent. You can find cheaper in other places but it will also taste cheap.

I would have loved to get one of the rooms that had sea view (rooms 201 - 205), but I had also a great view to the pool of another hotel.

The room was clean, the towels were changed every two days, and room was cleaned almost daily. It had AC, two beds linked (felt like matrimonial), fridge and TV (although I could only see one Italian channel). Reception girls were amazing and polite 5* for them. PS : don't try to speak english with the maid, just point here what you need, signs work best :). The balcony was very good during nights when you can take some air and have a cold beer.

What to visit in Santorini? : the churches, the winery museum, red beach, Fira city, Firostefani, Oia, Oia 3 tower church, the Volcano (nea kameli), take a boat cruise as there plenty.

DON'T go to watch OIA sunset as it's just rubish.

Some prices:
- water pack 6 x 1.5 = 2.5 euro
- fridge magnets = 1-2 euros depending where you buy them
- small houses - 3-10 euros
- bus ticket - 1.8 euro from Kamari to Fira
- winery museum - 12 euro
- group tours (all day) - 40 - 60 euros
- car (55 euros per day)
- beach beer - 4.5 euro (Mythos)
- food souvlaki - 10 - 12euro
- pasta - 10 euro
- pizza - 8 euro
- fish - from 12 to 30 euro
- ice cream - 2.5 euro a cup

Room Tip: Try to book rooms 201-205 with sea view

Dear Alexandru,
What can I say. This is one of the most informative and useful reviews. Not because you are talking so good about us and the hotel but mostly because you are giving so detailed informations! We are so pleased that you have enjoyed your stay at Poseidon Beach Hotel and you loved Kamari.
We wish you all the best!

We spent our last 2 nights in Santorini here and had a wonderful stay. The staff were extremely efficient, helpful and friendly. Our room was clean, well decorated and very comfortable. The pool is great and you can sit around it and see the sea. The attached taverna serves good food and younger to use the loungers for free.

Breakfast is very basic and could be improved upon but this did not spoil our stay in any way.

We stayed at this hotel in july 2016, me and my boyfriend, and i would say its smaller than i thought, but it didnt bother me much, as it was nice and clean eveywhere. We were greeted by nice staff every morning and after every trip we came home from, and the room was likewise clean and fairly big. We had one facing a courtyard, which wasnt very fascinating, as we just stared right into a wall, but i saw balcony overlooking the beach - so book with ocean view.
The room had aircon, tv and fairly big bathroom. Though in santorini you are not allowed to flush toilet paper, so you have to get used to that. But they empty your bin every day.
The breakfast is on the other hand, dull. It is continental, but really is just toast with jam and cornflakes. Eat out instead.
The pool area is small, but overlooks the ocean nicely. It doesnt have many sun chairs, but they were never full during our visit.
The best part about the hotel is location, location, location. Its located right on the promenade walk in Kamari. Its a cute little street full of shops and restaurants. Very downtown. Also close by are the oldest church from mid 12 th century or so - a must see! Also have an open air cinema that shows movies from june to august. Def a must.
We also rented a quad bike from a shop close by, 44 euro for an entire day, and you can see almost the entire island on it. Close by is also a bus stop that will take you to fira, and from there you can visit oia.

We booked this hotel because we wanted somewhere on the beach front in kamari as we had visited once before a few years ago and decided the next time that we visited santorini that we would stay beach fine here. The pool was also a deciding point. We booked a normal standard room, not one of the limited ones at the front with a beach view... in hindsight we could have booked anywhere a block or so away from the beach without a view and had better room facilities.

We used the pool once... why would you pool when the beach is right there... and so many others so close by... lesson learnt.. don't need a pool.

The rooms were small.. although clean. Only room for one suitcase on the desk in the room, with a bit of shuffling things... the other suitcase was emptied and contents put on floor of the wardrobe as no shelves provided... just three coat hangers. There was a room safe on the floor,of the wardrobe as well. Emptied case stood upright next to desk. There was a fridge.... and two bottles of water provided in arrival. We bought our own water from the supermarket around the corner for the rest of the stay as no more provided. Wifi was good.

Bathroom had a shower, vanity, hairdryer and bin. Notice saying towels changed every two days... wish that was right.

On day One we arrived with single bed sheets on bottom of two single bed mattresses and a single sheet and thun cotton blanket folded at the bottom of each mattress that was pushed together. We made up the beds. Next arvo .. night two.. after our day out we found the sheets and blankets folded again at the bottom of our mattresses so made up our beds.. at about midnight ..... no fresh towels.
Night three we returned.. beds untouched... room swept, bins emptied. No fresh towels. Beds Unmade and untouched, no fresh towels or sheets
Night four we returned.. yes we were out all day every day.. it is santorini!!?,?. Room swept bins emptied.. no fresh sheets, no fresh towels And bed unmade and not touched again.

Night five we returned, bins emptied room swept, no fresh towels.. really need them now after black sand each day and heavy tourisitng... bed not touched since day one... same sheets and blankets.. black sand in bed.
Morning.. we threw sheets and blankets and towels in floor In Entry and left...

Night six.. new sheets and towels?

Why didn't we complain... we were not back till after midnight most nights.. and just wanted to go to bed... each morning.. we had plans .. for up Nd went... we didn't expect to have to spend time at the desk complaining.. who does... this is twenty four hours away from where we live... each moment is precious... you expect what you pay for...

Sign in bathroom says new towels every two days...

Really minimal housekeeping here.

So getting away from poor house keeping. the location is great.. the two ladies ,we met daily and evening at reception were lovely and welcoming.

We didn't do breakfast here because it didn't have good reviews and places nearby had to order breakfast for cheaper with a bit of a walk along the magical promenade

The air conditioning only just suffices...

Learnt experience.... Advice..... if you don't pay for a room with a view at a hotel in the promenade... you really can stay anywhere within block or two od the beach and it won't make any difference... it's just place to sleep... save your money..

Please note that we travel a lot.. and review a lot.. always honestly

Better available... I would not recommend

Thank you for taking time to write your review. I have to say that indeed our rooms are not very big and sometimes this could be a problem for the guests who prefer to be more comfy. I'm sorry that the cleaning service wasn't good. We pay high attention to cleanliness when I give the service plan to the cleaning ladies I write carefully when they have to change sheets and towels. It would be better if you could tell us something during your stay in order to be able to make things better for you.
We wish you all the best. Katerina Kofou

The staff at the hotel was helpful, rooms are clean and big (with attached balcony). Kamari Beach is right in front of the hotel. Towels for beach/pool are available for rent at 1euro. Hotel is very close to the bus stop, which has regular buses to Fira. Car/bike/ATV rentals are also available nearby. Easy to reach from the port as well (take a bus to Fira and then another bus to Kamari). Airport is close as well (15€ by Taxi).
Really liked the location of this hotel. The entire stretch along Kamari beach is very lively. Lots of restaurants, souvenir shops and supermarket as well. Overall, we loved our stay here.
