Each apartment has a kitchenette equipped with cooking utensils and a nice size fridge. Also, it has either a balcony/ terrace or a small courtyard depending on your location (2nd floor or ground floor). I know this because they placed us in 2 separate apartments, instead of next to each other. Bathroom upstairs in Rm 22 has literally a 2x2 ft shower area. Water pressure is weak here. So, we shower downstairs in Rm 23. That was a bit aggravationg, since at this point and summer-peak time, every decent hotel in the area was fully booked. There is a small pool with the view of the hill and a tiki bar. Breakfast is buffet style with good choices, albeit repetitive. The place is maintained well enough. Everything is of modest quality with the vibe of a lived in home. Employees are helpful enough. The place is a walking distance from Kamari beach and Kamari beach is lined with restaurants and hotels.

Room Tip: ask for more modern, perhaps more newly renovated rooms. Ground rooms have probably better water pressure.

Stayed seven nights here in room 26 I believe – allocated a superior apartment which was on the ground floor with a separate kitchen and diner. Air con in bedroom worked a treat, nice bathroom although the gap in the shower door allowed the floor to be flooded and a small area outside for a sit down and gander at those passing by was a welcome addition. Breakfast was okay, if a bit repetitive with the fried eggs reminding me of those sweets you get from Haribo.

The lady who cleaned the room daily did an excellent job keeping the apartment spotless the ladies in reception were good 2. There seemed to be a party of southerners in the hotel from London and they tended to hog the main swimming pool - although the sun loungers are very close together but they were no bother.

Nice pool bar serving cold beers and snacks and there is a small plunge pool near the entrance if you can’t get a bed near the main pool.

Location excellent for shops, restaurants and nightlife.

The hotel is located in a quiet street 50-150 metres from Kamari beach. Close to restaurants, bar, shops and buses to Fira.
It consists of both apartments and rooms.
Our apartment (number 4) was a renovated one, located on the ground floor right next to the bar and pool area. It had a spacious bedroom with access to a terrace (sunny one but with an umbrella), an airconditioning-unit and a double bed.
The livingroom was big and had one single bed and a couch, sleeps 2. Terrace outside (shadow).. In addition there was a separate kitchen with a dinigtable for 4. Poosible to cook your own food.
+ location, spacious rooms, comfortable beds, breakfast
- no aircondition in the livivngroom, the one in the bedroom was not enough to cool down both rooms,
WIFI only worked in the reception-/breakfast aerea, not in the apartment,
really poor waterflow in the bathroom. It was hard to get enough water to wash your hair.

Room Tip: Upper floors facing the mountains

My family of five stayed here early June. Polydefkis was a beauty in every respect. Located less than a block from the beach, Polydefkis is enchanting, affordable and everything we had hoped for. The facilities were clean and exquisitely decorated. Breakfast was homemade and delicious. Everyone treated us as family and with a sincere smile and attentiveness. Polydefkis certainly has our highest recommendation.
