“Winter golf”

Fuerteventura Golf Club
Reviewed 3 March 2018

The condition of the course is not very good. The tee boxes are shocking at best and often in very strange positions. The greens are over seeded and very uneven and the bunkers would be better if full of concrete. As expected the pace of play was slow even with a buggy and four and a half hours the average over my three rounds. The pro shop is very good and the staff efficient - just needs some investment in the course.

It’s not the best course you will ever play but quite good for a bit of sunshine golf in the winter.

Some of the holes can be a bit tricky especially the tee shot on the 2nd, so it can be a challenge especially when very windy

Quite a quick course too for holiday golf. We got a 4 ball around in 4 hours, even zee Germans seem to get a wriggle on.

One thing you do need to be aware of is that shouting fore doesn’t seem to be too common & the course Marshals don’t seem to challenge this or understand how dangerous being hit by a golf ball can be.

Bar & hotel staff, usual ambivalent Spanish attitude. In contrast golf booking staff friendly & helpful.

But overall worth a go if you’re on hols there

For the second year in a row I came here for some warm weather, if a little windy, lessons to help get me ready for the season.

I didn’t play the course so aren’t able to comment on the condition or otherwise. However, the practice area is in good knick and the lessons are really good value. The pro is excellent and the best pro I’ve ever I had tuition with.

The shop is well stocked with some good gear and never had a problem getting a bar afterwards.

All I’ve got to do now is remember everything I was taught and put it into practice. That’s the hard part.

We had a twilight time 2.10 with 2 other guests...40 euros. Fairways grassy enough. Greens the ball will stop on them if hit high enough and will check with spin. The bunkers poorish ...they were very firm. Ok for fairways but not for green side..loads of dog legs . Always a sign of trying to squeeze a course in a smallish area..landing areas for drives were fair apart from the second.... about 20 yards wide with OB on right and aqueduct on left..we were behind a slow 3 ball so in danger of not getting round before dark but fortunately they departed after 9 holes.

Played golf early morning on the 30th. Chipping and putting areas I thought were better than some back home. The golf course I thought was very well kept and greens very true but not as fast as they collected. Probably the time of year. The layout I thought was a fair challenge but avoid the bunkers. Staff in pro shop and on the course were excellent. Definitely a course I'd play again
