We stayed with Rob and Linda in January/February 2012 and what a wonderful experience. It was more than just a holiday, it was something I will never forget. The sense of peace and calmness stayed with me long after the holiday was over and I cannot recommend Awatea highly enough.
It is a perfect place to de-stress and unwind and you could not find a more wonderful location for people on their honeymoon or wanting to spend time together in a blissful location.
The accommodation, food, reception and atmosphere was all wonderful and I didn’t want to come home. Thank you for such a wonderful experience.

We, my friens and I, were just exhausted after work and travelling from Christchurch. A warm welcome and a sound sleep in a exellent bed rejouvenate us. The sounds of native birds woke us up, a brillant start for another day. We three enjoyed it verry much so we stayed for a second night. I won`t forgett the breakfast with the delicious eggs - superb.

Room Tip: Every room is quiet. The house is situated in a quiet environement. The front rooms have a stunning...

We, a party of three stayed with Linda and Rob at Awatea. We booked one night and stayed for two.
Awatea has outstanding views from waimates foothills to the coast and sits in a beautiful garden setting which is visited by native birds, We even saw a wood pigeon. This couple did everything they could to ensure we enjoyed our stay and gave service which was excellent.
The breakfasts were great as was their company.
Well worth a visit, it is a great place to relax and spend some quiet time sunning, reading or have a hot bath under the stars. A1

I can't recommend this place enough! From the the gorgeous bedroom with a supurb view, to the outside baths which overlook Waimate to the sea and the scrummy home cooked organic dinner, this place was a treat! Also enjoyed the reflexology session provided by Linda. We will be back again for another chill out session.

Wow! If you are a soul person, this is the accommodation for you.
A quick detour off the Timaru- Dunedin highway is well worth it. The charming well appointed house sits in a large garden with views from the mountains to the sea.
The hosts Linda and Rob were the lovliest, welcoming and fun people, who I felt went to that extra effort to make my stay comfortable and special. The homegrown food, the outdoor bath, and reflexology session all wonderful.
