Stayed one night. Located on the highway but with light traffic flows the highway noise was dull and didn't disturb us. Very welcoming check in. The decor is eclectic and functional. Basic kitchen with oven, microwave, sink and kettle. This would be ideal for cooking hot brekkies but for dinner, save the hassle and pop next door the meals at the Silverstream Pub.
The beds were comfy, the room was clean and fresh and there is a TV with DVD. Our room had a selection of board games.
Within a stones throw of Mt Dobson ski fields, I recommend the Mt Dobson Motel for families looking for comfortable accommodation near the ski field.

The location of this motel was perfect for us as it was a good midpoint between Christchurch and Te Anau. The beds were super comfortable. The bird songs outside the room were amazing and there's a restaurant right next to the motel. Tasty! Horses across the road are very friendly. Don't leave the doors open because at least in April there were lots of flying insects.

Kimbell is tiny - just this small motel, a B&B and a pub with decent food, but it's very affordable and all you need for a night traveling to/from Mt. Cook. WiFi is sketchy and there's little to no cell reception (on Spark) so plan accordingly. Nice garden setting & laundry.

We arrived at our motel after a fairly long drive from Greymouth. We were given lots of travel advice, upon check-in, for things to do in Tekapo the next day. We also received a map of the area. Our room was spacious and had all the amenities we required.

we got 2 rooms and one living room with a kitchen.
had 200mb free wifi.
lots of heater and electronic blanket on our bed.
everything was pretty clean.
couch seems very new so as all beddings.
had very comfortable staying.

only negative side was kitchen stuff were bit old.
our kettle was bit rusty so couldn't make coffee.
