“Peaceful, serenic countyside stay in spacious bungalow.”
Reviewed 2 June 2015 for a stay in April 2015

A nice place to get away from it all.
Very quiet at night making for a good sleep.
Would have enjoyed the garden more if it hadn't rained as much.
We couldn't locate the wifi at the property although that wasn't a bad thing.

“Tranquility and cycling”
Reviewed 1 November 2014 for a stay in October 2014

Four of us stayed at Dolwen in early October to experience the road cycling. It was the perfect gateway to the Elan Valley, and the views were breathtaking. We'll definitely be back to ride the route again in the new year.

Rhayader was a nice little town. Good lamb chops from the butcher and plenty of pubs.

What was really enjoyable though was relaxing in the bungalow. We unplugged the TV at the mains, put a good stew on the stove and relaxed as much as possible when we weren't out riding the hills. With plenty of red wine.

The views from the house and most of the bedrooms are unspoilt. The kitchen is fit for a good sized group so we chose to cook the entire time we were there.

Del looked after us very well when we arrived but after we'd settled in we were left to our own devices.

Overall it was an absolutely fantastic weekend. If you're looking to get away from it all for a few days then it's the perfect setting - next time I'll try and stay a bit longer to experience more of the cycling and maybe some of the walking.

“Dolwen is the perfect place for a relaxing holiday, nowhere better.”
Reviewed 29 May 2014 for a stay in May 2014

Arriving back here after a year was like coming home, cup of tea and slippers on! Dolwen is so welcoming. It is so big, with all you need and a view to compete with anywhere. We recommend it to everyone without question.

“A very comfy, cosy cottage with everything you need for lovely holiday.”

Even though our holiday was in the coldest March for decades we were welcomed in a nice warm house with everything we needed for a lovely relaxing holiday. It was very clean and was equipped with all the modern amenities that a family need, with the added luxury of two bathrooms!
The house lies in a very quiet area with lovely views and walks.
