Set right on the edge of the Kochel See with mountains rising up behind the hotel, the setting is idyllic!
The hotel rooms are in a separate building right next to the restaurant and reception, but this did not bother us at all. There is no lift and our room was on the 3rd floor so be prepared to carry suitcases - we knew about this from reading previous reviews so once again not a problem.
The rooms are spacious and comfortable. We had a small - but adequate - balcony overlooking the lake. Smoking permitted on the balcony. Bathroom small but adequate.
It was summer and so we ate supper on the terrace outside the restaurant overlooking the lake. There is a path where you can walk along the lake.
Breakfast was served inside the restaurant by a window right over the edge of the lake. A wonderful selection of cereals, cold meats and cheeses, fruits, various breads and cooked breakfast.
We really enjoyed our one night there and would definitely go back.More
