“Comfortable and cozy”
Reviewed 27 November 2014 for a stay in November 2014

We spent a weekend recently at the Two Chapel Lane and were really impressed. The cottage is in a small village, it is very silent and quiet; Rutland Waters are just a few minutes drive away and a drive to Stamford takes 10 minutes. The building represent the typical old construction of the local countryside, very nice, welcoming and cozy. It is a very special retreat that we certainyl recommend for a family stay. Facilities and appliances were in perfect conditions; nothing was wrong. We had Diana to deliver the Keys on our arrival and she gently showed main features around the cottage and some local tips. All in all a great stay and we'll be hopefully back in the near future.

“Wonderful holiday cottage in a lovely county”
Reviewed 7 November 2014 for a stay in October 2014

We had a short stay at 2 Chapel Lane and loved our stay. My 3 children (8,5 and 1) all loved the toys, books and dvds at the property and my husband and I loved the beautiful setting, the fabulous decor, the wood fire in the evenings and very comfortable beds. It provided a great base to stay and explore Rutland - in our short stay we checked out the local playground (great for kids of all ages), the Olive Branch in Clipsham (highly recommended!), cycling in Rutland Water, Stamford (the cook shop is great for evening meals with no effort), Burghley House (the garden of surprises and pumpkin trail, and Beastly Boring Burghley tour, were all huge hits with all of us), Belton House (great grounds and play areas for kids) and Sacrewell Farm (again, lots for kids to do). We will most certainly be back!

“Gorgeous cottage in a lovely area”
Reviewed 24 October 2014 for a stay in October 2014

We had a lovely few days here with our one year old. The cottage is beautiful. And it was extremely helpful that it had things like a high chair and a basket of toys which kept our son occupied for the whole visit. The cottage is very well located for exploring all the local attractions and there are lots of good pubs in the nearby villages. Would definitely recommend a stay here.

“A Perfect Getaway”
Reviewed 16 July 2014 for a stay in May 2014

We stayed in the cottage for 6 weeks fleeing building work in our own home in nearby Stamford. The property was a perfect getaway for us - ideally located in the pretty village of Ketton which is no more than a 10 minute drive into Stamford and providing all home comforts.
The cosy sitting room with woodburning stove is ideal for relaxing in the evening and there is an abundance of books, games and DVDs provided for entertainment. The cottage style kitchen is well equipped and on warm evenings we sat in the garden. As the World Cup was on during our stay and the local pub at the end of the lane was broadcasting the matches we sometimes had some noise but never late at night so it wasn't a problem.
We met some of the neighbours who were very friendly and there was never an issue with the parking for the cottage which is very convenient either at the end of the little lane or on Church Street although we rarely needed to do this.
As our stay coincided with the very light evenings and early morning sunrises we would have liked heavier blinds in the bedroom as we were woken very early every morning by the bright sunshine illuminating the room from the double aspect windows. In the sitting room there are shutters but not in the bedrooms so perhaps some blackout blinds would be a good solution.
Apart from this we had an extremely comfortable stay and would definitely recommend the cottage.

“Great stay with 2 small children”

Great cottage, beautifully furnished and well equipped for young children with blackout blinds, cots etc.
we stayed with our 2 year old and 4 month old baby over a lovely sunny weekend. Burlurgh house was fantastic - take a swimming costume for your little one so they can splash about in the garden of surprises, and have a picnic in the sculpture garden. A visit to the local farm, and a picnic at Rutland water was also a hit.
It was a shame the local pub had shut down for food, so we stocked up with some meals from the Cook Shop.
Would definitely love to return.

Thank-you very much for you lovely review - I'm really pleased that you liked both the cottage and the area. It's a shame that the Northwick Arms was closed during your visit. I understand it's just been sold and is opening under new ownership - so hopefully it will be up and running again if you do make a return visit. Kind regards, Gillian
