This is a very pretty castle in a hilltop forest. There is a small museum and they raise trout in ponds. There are hundreds of years of history here. It's worth taking a look if you are in the area, but don't go out of your way for it.

The area is beautiful and we enjoyed the best apple cake at the Hotel Schloss Mespelbrunn. We visited on Friday, May 26th and it was closed. It was a lovely setting.

Arrived in Frankfurt, got our car and an hour later, we stopped here. Very pretty setting. Cute castle/residence in a small town. Very nice, well kept up, interesting history. Tour was in German. Old guy didn't know (or want to say anything in) English. The Inside is lovely however and worth a look. The Cost is 5 euro and we had to return the info sheets (which I thought was weird). Then we had a quick lunch at the little restaurant there. Good apple strudel, lunch was ok

The castle is interesting but don't bother if you don't speak very good german! The castle is also kind of in the middle of nowhere, we struggled to find anywhere to get a drink / snack.

This easily accessible palace is a classic structure, and worth seeing anytime or any day... fall and winter are particularly nice, with fewer visitors.

Take the tour, its interesting and offered in many languages.
