What a cool place to stay! Short walk to the surf, rest in a nice room. We rented one with a full kitchen, so it was like a mini apartment. Relaxed in the pool and had numerous drinks and dinners at the restaurant on Surf/Yoga destination. Will return again!

This was my first visit to Costa Rica. It was a pleasant surprise and so very enjoyable. KayaSol is an excellent choice as the staff and environment is friendly and helpful if needed. Our room was one of the hotel rooms but the hostel rooms looked clean and comfortable as well. There is a short walk to the quiet beach which is a draw for surfers. There are some cabanas on the beach but bring sunscreen for protection. There are restaurant choices and I found the food and service to be excellent. Great time.

I have stayed in 5 hotels in Nosara, actually Playa Guiones. Fortunately booked the vacation a little late as it is high season. So one of the only places available was the casita at Kaya Sol. It turned out to be one the best values and a little home away from home, for the same price as just a room in most places in Playa Guiones. As the name implies it's a little mini house with a descent size refrigerator, small gas stove/oven, coffee pot and a lot of kitchen utensils. The casita also has a small living room, this part of the casita is not air conditioned. But anyone who's been to Playa Guiones will tell you food is very expensive and having the ability to make coffee and food before an early surf is awesome.
The back of the casita is air conditioned and easily has room for 5, with a queen bed, two bunks and a loft. The bathroom is large and there is plenty of storage. The beds were comfortable.
What really makes Kaya Sol is the people. The proprietor Pam is usually on the property and the staff including Susy and Andrea at the front office are welcoming, helpful and very friendly. When there is live music, it is over by 10pm. My party found Kaya Sol to be quiet and tranquil.

Thank You Tricia!
Your description of the value of Casita is perfect, that is exactly what we were going for when we designed the "mini home". I am glad you got up for some early surfs the beach and waves are great at first light!
Your most powerful statement is-"What really makes Kaya Sol is the people."
Thank you for enjoying our peaceful property and the atmosphere we try to create and share.
We would love to have you back again!

Older, English speaking people drinking. If this is your thing, this is a place for you. The staff here all seemed very young and although polite, quite condescending. But that seems to be indicative throughout most of the Nosara area. My two night stay there is really a tale of two rooms, the first being a small room right behind the office. The room was clean and everything worked, it is just small. And had no coffee maker which meant buying coffee from the bar at $2 (us) a tiny cup. My second night here was in one of the upstairs suites, which was very nice. It had a full kitchen including fridge, coffee maker and microwave. The bathroom and shower were also very large and a nice change. This room was also farther from the noise of the bar/restaurant area.
There is a mini-super close by and although the food at the hotel is very good there are several other restaurants nearby as well (10 Pies was my favorite). The pool area was nice and the beach here is crowded at times but very beautiful.
Nosara is having water issues right now and although this hotel has back up, there are a few hours a day you are asked not to drink the tap water. It’s not a large inconvenience but something to be aware of planning a stay here.

Room Tip: Get one of the suites if available.

My 4th time to KayaSol - it fits my need for reasonable prices, great surf, good service from staff. Susie, the manager knows the importance of good service as do the staff. They continually are checking in to see how things are going, thanking guest for staying and seeing what needs we have. Diana and Melania were did a great job in the housekeeping area. Always smiling, and on top of our needs. Nacho, the grounds and pool man was totally always smiling, kept the outdoors in great shape, as well the pool. His skills are many and done very well - We are are grateful for the new trail to the woods to the beach.

Room Tip: Look at the pictures, assess your needs (kitchen or not)
