My partner and I have just returned from a very enjoyable 10 night stay at the Coconut Bay Resort. We stayed in the Harmony wing on the 3rd floor. The room was very spacious, clean and well appointed with good TV and WIFI. There was plenty of wardrobe space and a gratis safe. The balcony was sea facing- a bit small but ok for 2 and you wouldn't want to sit there for long in the morning, too hot! However, in the room the air-con was first class and a welcome relief when returning to the room. The maid service was excellent, it was unobtrusive, flexible and very thorough (towel sculptures amazing!). A nice touch was the daily topping up of the gratis soft drinks and water in the fridge. The bed was enormous and so comfortable- who makes the mattresses because we want one at home?!
On the downside, the shower room was small and dated and in need of refurbishment. However, the bathrobes were excellent and the towels were plentiful and of good quality and size.
Daytime and poolside- the resort has great swimming pools catering for all needs. Although we had no children with us, the Coconut Bay clearly caters for families and has super dedicated pool facilities and activities for kids. The resort is well zoned for families and those wanting a relaxing adult holiday without children. We chose to use the Harmony adult only pools and bar area. The pools and sunbathing facilities were quiet and relaxing and very comfortable- grab a suntracker platform which you can rotate to follow the sun but also provides much needed shade if you want it.
Options for breakfast and lunch are superb and very varied. Dinner in the a la carte restaurants were very good but the menu doesn't vary so the main buffet can be a better option- or a burger/pizza from the late night snack bar by the blue bar/games area.
All of the staff throughout the resort are extremely friendly and helpful and always on hand.
Excellent value for money in comparison to other resorts on St Lucia.

Room tip: Don't chose ground floor- an apparent influx of frogs on the patio when it rains!

The staff and people are amazing. The beach is not what we are accustomed to in the Caribbean. But they really try to keep it clean but it's filled with seaweed. The place needs a little bit of work but overall it was very nice. They keep their pools really clean and they are beautiful. But if you're looking for a beach this would not be the place.

Judy,
Thank you for your review. The beach does at time experience some the southern flow of Sargasso, however, that is not the norm by any means. And you did recognize the efforts the resorts takes to focus on your beach experience. I would have thought that the stay was more than a 3 star with all the other items you highlighted.

Again thank you for your feed back

Safe Travels

first of all could I say thank you to marlin(house keeping)dahlia & zavelle (f/desk)claire's & Kenny (c/walk)Natalie (harmony pool)sherma (bar) Jill (silk/restaurant) and all the other staff that may our stay enjoyable these are the people why holiday makers keep coming back because they take notice of you everyone said hello every day from the gardeners to management, we stay in the harmony side and we had plenty of sun beds to choose from and if you couldn't be bother to go to the bar to get your drink Natalie was always around to do it for you, the food was ok in the buffet/restaurant and then you had a good selection from the other three restaurant in the hotel, the room we stayed in was a little out dated but our maid (marlin) keep it spotless every day, the hotel has lots of things going on every day and if you have got children they will love it, we done some tours on the island and book them up at the hotel and we had our own private driver and the car was excellent the driver (kenson) was one in a million he knows everything, the other thing about this hotel is how close it is to the airport 2/3 minutes and you are in the hotel and the only time you hear the planes take off is in the afternoon and most times you don't notice them or hear them, so to sum up the hotel if you like short transfer from the airport and not to fussy in what you eat and have a room which maybe outdated but spotlessly clean go and see for yourself and check out the amazing staff.

Where do I begin? Upon arrival at Hewanorra Intl. Airport (UVF) everyone I interacted with was so very friendly and helpful from immigration to transportation. Before leaving the airport my bags were tagged with my room number and when I stepped out of the van at the resort I was immediately given a “Blue” welcome drink. When we were shown to our room and found it had two queen beds instead of the king bed we had asked for, the staff quickly found and moved us to a king bed room with a wonderful ocean view.

The restaurants at Coconut Bay Resort are phenomenal. The offer a great variety of choices that include the freshest of meats, seafoods, vegetables, and fruits prepared to perfection. Fine dining at Calabash included elegantly prepared and served signature dishes, Capri offered delicious Italian food, the Beach Grill served fantastic comfort food, and for breakfast we enjoyed the Coconut Walk Marketplace. Not only did the food exceed our expectations, one of the servers with whom we had the pleasure of knowing always remembered our names. When I arrived for breakfast without my wife, she would ask about her by name...impressive! Oh yes, that special server is Hannah...and if you have the opportunity of staying at Coconut Bay Resort and eat breakfast in the Coconut Walk Marketplace, ask for her!! She even arranged for us to have some fresh “Coconut Jelly”!

The purpose of this trip was for my daughter’s wedding and I cannot praise the resort enough for providing superb facilities, wedding planning, photography, and reception. Onita deserves all the praise for this!!

One last fun fact: The day before the wedding my wife and I, my daughter and her fiancé, and another couple decided to go to the Treetop Zip-line Adventure. The adventure began with driving “Sand Buggies from the resort to the rain forest. Since St. Lucia is a British Commonwealth, all driving is on the left side of the road and since we are from the USA this was very different for us. The sand buggies were of course driven from the right side with the gear shift on the driver’s left. We were led to and from the rain forest by a fantastic guide whose name is “Chubs”. He patiently the explained driving techniques and provided a fun filled tour. My wife and I are 73 and 75 years old and this was our first zip-line adventure. 12 zip-lines to 12 platforms...it was amazing and so much fun and we are ready to repeat!!!

Hello Michael,

When looking for the vacation spot "Hospitality, Food, Facilities, Fun, Food, Hospitality, Climate, Food, People, Hospitality, and did I mention Food??" are definitely items that one wants to mark on the list. We are pleased that we were able to deliver everything you wanted out of a vacation experience and more (Dune Buggies & Ziplining- AWESOME!)

So glad you had a fun filled yet relaxing stay and we will be sure to pass on your high praises to Hannah, Onita and the rest of the team for a job well done.

Congratulations to your daughter and her new husband and we look forward to welcoming your family back soon.

We stayed in a Harmony Concierge Junior suite

We were met at reception with welcome drinks and towel and shortly booked in by one of the friendly concierge, who had already ensured we had reservations at each of the al a carte restaurants during our stay (which could be amended if they did not suit). We were then accompanied to our room where we had a complimentary bottle of bubbles, welcome chocolates and well stacked mini-fridge.

The bed was amazingly comfortable and a special mention to Sepherine for making our room look amazing with freshly picked flowers and finishing touches everyday.

Throughout the stay, the concierge visit the room with evening snacks and drinks to restock the fridge (more can be requested if needed).

Hotel/Pools
The hotel is well cared for and maintained and the staff are friendly and willing to assist.

I can see what some reviewers say about needing some updating, but our room was immaculate, as we're the pools. Some of the harmony wooden sunbeds and parasols need a bit of maintenance but it is clear that the hotel is undergoing a bit of refurbishment. At times the refurb was noticeable and a little noisy but I was able to blank that out with the sound of the ocean (certainly wasn't too loud or disruptive).

Although we were staying in a Harmony suite, the whole of the hotel/pools are accessible. When there are weddings on the access around the pavilion is limited but literally an extra 30 seconds to get to other parts of the resort.

The harmony pools are adult only, so therefore quiet with hot tub. A bar was 30 seconds walk away but there was also an at the pool service.

The other family pools equally as good, one with swim up bar. The water park was fun with a couple of good slides and a lazy river (my favourite).

Food
The main buffet restaurant was efficient and clean. The food was varied and not bland at all. If you're a fussy eater there's plenty options including a kids table which has some fries etc
Breakfast equally good...would recommend the eggs benedict and waffles cooked to order.

Silk - (Asian - Chinese/Japanese fusion)
The service was very slow but the food more than made up for this.

Calabash - (Caribbean fusion)
Ate here twice for evening dinner and both times food was amazing. Again service could be slow, but I didn't care as I was on holiday and enjoyed the company I was in instead.
Calabash also do an adult only al a carte breakfast....very quiet and relaxed. Full English is a bit on the smaller portion side but plenty of accompaniments to add on. Recommend the croissant sandwich!!

For silk and calabash a dress code applies....so guys remember long trousers, collared shirts/polo shirts and closed shoes, ladies a bit easier in normal evening wear.

Both of these restaurants are air conditioned.

Also, don't bother with the wine list, the restaurants serve the wine you can get on the all inclusive by the glass.

Capri - (Italian)
Best meal I had apart from La Luna. The antipasti bar was help yourself and an amazing varied range. The steak was cooked to perfection. Only downside is it's partially open ie no windows/doors and therefore no air con.

La Luna
Small beach hut room overlooking ocean for intimate dining. It's an extra $40USD + tax each but worth it if you are celebrating a special occasion or want an intimate romantic dinner. We had the steak with lobster which was outstanding!

Excursions
We did the couples escapade, which was $170USD + tax. Was a private air conditioned taxi for 4 hours taking in sights of the island including botanical gardens, mud baths, volcano, waterfall (no -swimming) and the driver said he'd take us to a waterfall where we could also swim (extra $3USD each) finished with views of the island and coconut bay. This was a perfect way to see the island, learn about some of the local customs but in the company of just your loved one (and driver). Our driver was very knowledgable and passionate about his home island. He took lots of pictures of us experiencing these sites together. Highly recommended!

Sunset cruise
$70USD + tax each
An evening cruise on a catamaran to the pitons, with drinks and snacks provided. The views were breathtaking and sunset on the ocean was unforgettable. Recommend this trip 100%

Entertainment
From a beach party with reggae music to kettle drum bands, live singers and much much more, there is something for everyone's taste. Equally if that's not for you, there are plenty other bars to choose from instead.

Tax
Please remember trips and added extras are exclusive of tax so expect your bill to be slightly more than the quoted prices. All items/activities are quoted in USD

$500 resort credit
This was disappointing. The trips included were not for us and some of the credit is for those with children. It's more like money off vouchers than credit and did not end up using any of them.

However in total with the two trips, la Luna and a bottle of wine, some duty free shopping from the hotel boutique (look out for happy hour) we only spent $450USD

Activities
Complimentary pool tables/ping pong/kayaking and paddle boarding

Security
The resort is very secure with security staff (all very friendly). Security do not recommend you leave the resort unaccompanied, so you cannot go beyond the security point on the beach...! Whilst I appreciate their concern we wanted a relaxed romantic bottle of bubbly on the beach which was within sight of the security point at the surf shack but were told to go back!

Pros
- Great choice of food
- Excellent cocktails
- Smiley, happy and friendly staff
- Amazing chocolate cake
- Clean
- Excellent choice of restaurants
- Excellent entertainment
- Separate adult/kids pools and areas
- Security paramount
- Activities
- Waterpark

Cons
- Restrictions on going beyond boundary of resort unaccompanied
- Beach is limited at high tide (not a problem for us but if you want beach holiday then you may struggle here)

We had an amazing, romantic holiday here. Not quite a 5* resort but not far off and to me it's worth the rating I've given on here.

Would love to come back one day
