Fantastic, newly renovated rooms. Bathroom is excellent, and finally(!) mixing faucet at the sink as the regular separate faucets in the UK are very strange and inconvenient for us from the Continent. Rooms are very clean and the furniture as well is new and wonderful. Inverness is only half an hour drive. Very friendly owner, nice welcome drink. As the hotel has only few rooms you mainly have to order what you want to eat for breakfast, the buffet assortment is limited. Though you get everything you ask for, but it is still a little bit inconvenient to ask again and again if you would like to get another slice of salami or another fried egg etc. So the best if you prepare yourself and order everything at once... :-) But you would enjoy every minute of your stay here!

This is our second visit to this hotel. Very welcoming and owners friendly. Lovely clean room. Fluffy towels which smell gorgeous. Arran aromatic toiletries. Breakfast good and plentiful.
Just waiting on Aviemore half marathon dates for 2018 to be announced and will book up for 2018.
Views are from room out to garden where you can see red squirrels. Peaceful and tranquil.

From the moment we arrived in Carrbridge we started to enjoy our break.
We were given a very warm welcome by Janette, and offered a welcome drink,
We both and Our dog Diezel enjoyed a luxurious room on the ground floor.
Breakfast was absolutely lovely, my husband favouring the Fairwinds, and me the scrambled eggs and salmon.
Charlotte waited on us and was extremely warm and friendly..
We met Peter a few times also during our visit.
If you want to see red squirrels, Janette gave us tips, and we saw them on several occasions in the beautiful grounds.

It appears nothing is too much trouble and we loved our stay.
We ate in Aviemore but actually preferred the local pub as the dog was welcome in the bar area.

We would highly recommend anyone to stay at fairwinds, also they have log cabins in the grounds.

We look forward to our next visit.

We traveled as a family, needing three rooms. Thanks goodness we found this place! The owner, Peter, could not have been more helpful and genuinely friendly and kind. One of the couples had a dog and should normally have been obliged to take the Speyside room on the ground floor (this has something to do with the carpeting I believe), but Peter spontaneously proposed to leave Speyside - huge room with fireplace and armchairs - to the seniors in our group, thus bending his dog principles, to the satisfaction of everyone (the dog included).
Our room, the Speyside, had been redone and was quite comfortable, although it needs a more functional lighting arrangement (we mentioned this as we left). The other rooms were quite big enough and well-appointed. Nothing fancy, but what you need when you're staying in a country place.
The property, on the edge of a national park, is lovely and well-kept, plenty of parking available. Walks in the woods direct from the house, as far as you care to go.
They don't serve dinner but Peter had reserved a table for us at Andersons in nearby Boat of Garten. The second night, we ate at the local pub, again on his recommendation.
He had invited us to have a welcome drink in the honesty bar, a cute antechamber that invites you to sit and sip. We sample the complimentary drinks and then tasted a couple of the paying whiskies. What a nice touch!
Breakfast was in the veranda section, light and airy even on a cloudy day. There's a large selection of dishes; everything was cooked to order and was perfect. Coffee was delicious. A good selection of cereals and jams, some home-made.
We all had a great stay, and Fairwinds and its host became our gold standard for the trip.

Many thanks for your review.

Just like to mention that the room name is 'Strathspey' - possibly lost in translation!!!

Will have to look at the lighting, but not that easy without major re-wiring.

This hotel was a welcome retreat - both the hotel and the village of Carrbridge were peaceful and friendly. The room was comfortable and the host especially friendly. The hotel had many small thoughtful extras. The home baked cookies were delicious. Highly recommended.
