the Sandton is located about 200m from the beach. That's beautiful. it is also about 5 kms from West Terschelling, which is where most restaurants are. You can take the car, the bus or the bike into town, or have dinner at the hotel. The restaurant at the hotel is not cheap, I haven't tried it. Breakfast at the Sandton is good. You can have anything you expect to find at a good hotel. Staff are friendly and accomodating, and the rooms are of a good standard. They are spacious and the beds are good. We did find the room too warm, but there is no airco, so we kept the balcony door open at night. we were on the 1st floor. if you are on the ground floor, you may not feel safe doing this. There are no windows you can open. at the hotel reception, you can rent bikes and Ebikes at a fair price. There is a pool and a sauna. The parking lot is about 150 meters from the hotel, which is a bit strange and can be awkward. We found this hotel offers good vale for money.

Room tip: rooms can be warm in summer. there is no airco

Wonderful location. Great bicycle rental rates and facilities. Hotel and restaurant a bit dated and not
eexactly good value for money. Pool, sauna, steam room very nice. Housekeeping not up to standard. TTV dated, limited channels choices, sound volume issues and no HD.

Fantastic Location in the dunes of West aan Zee, but too expensive for experienced local facts and not fulfilling a 4 star hotel quality overall.

Negative: Old furniture, dirty bathroom (hairs in the shower, spider/cobweb between sofa & wall), overpainted visible marks on the floor & room walls, carpet bot clean (rests of spilled fluids visible), missing daily variety of served breakfast.

Caution 1! Never book room 118 - extremely loud, because located above slamming front door.
Caution 2! Be aware of lots of mosquitos.

Positive: Mangager solved room problem quick with providing a suite upgrade (very quiet, als requested and confirmed by the hotel before). Friendly service (reception, restaurant)

All these experiences above do not lead to a rating of 4 Stars. 3 would be acceptable. A rating of 8.4 @booking.com is doubtful to me.
With lower pricing a recommandable hotel, at the current level far too expensive for the experiences made.

Were hot and tired from our bike ride but received a warm welcome and had a lovely lunch and cold beer. About the only place open so really glad it was good!!
Good facilities. Reasonable prices. Friendly staff
