Location was fine, The price was good, however one of the rooms we got was very small (we revised this alternative room after our request to receive adjacent rooms was ignored) . In general it was fine.

We really loved it at Hotel Eth Pomer. First of all, we could make an early booking and got a cheap price (68 euros for a double room with buffet breakfast, which for August and the Pyrenees is quite a good rate. Checking was smooth and the girl at the reception desk was very helpful. Our room was large, with a wide window and a roomy bathroom (with hair dryer, very convenient), and quiet. The buffet breakfast was delicious and we had a hearty breakfast: everything you can imagine was there. Free parking in the street. Great place, we will come back.

Charming, nice hotel in the center of Vielha town. Cozy, chalet-style rooms. Staff spoke limited English, but we did just fine. Staff falling over themselves to be helpful. Did not experience any construction noise, although in general there does seem to be a lot of development in town, so you could run into that anywhere. Room key comes chained on a comically oversized lacquered wooden apple. ("Eth Pomer" is local dialect for "apple tree".) Excellent location for exploring the town on foot, great access to restaurants and shopping. If you're skiing in the winter, my guess is you'll probably be carrying equipment to a nearby bus stop--buses run down the valley to all the resorts. Basement parking is bizarre and geometrically improbable, staff had to wave me out by semaphore. Note that street parking may be difficult to find. Oh, and the breakfast buffet was very enjoyable, also featured some choices for special diets--ask ahead if you have special needs.

The building work on the adjacent building started at 4.00pm so we could not have a rest after skiing and our child could not sleep due to pneumatic drills on the other side of the wall. We called reception and they said 'Oh yes we know the people won't be happy' as it was Friday night we asked will they work tomorrow? Probably not was the answer. My husband went to talk to the builders and they were working at 8.00am on Saturday morning. We told reception 'Oh really' was all they could say. The breakfast was OK if you get there before 8.30am. After that there is no hot food left.
