This hotel is in transition. It's changed owners a few times and is going from a facility that caters to Germans and Northern Europeans to one that is specifically geared toward French tourists. The staff told us that in the future they were only going to accept bookings thorugh French agencies.
That's fun trivia, but what it means is that the hotel doesn't know exactly what their demographic or target audience is. The food, the rooms, the entertainment, the decor . . . it's all pretty good, but it isn't great, because it's not designed with a specific purpose in mind.
It's 2.25 miles from the city center, so a healthy walk. There's plenty to do and buses and taxis are available that are convenient, so unless you want to stumble home from a disco at 0300 (in which case you shouldn't be going to Playa Blanca) then this shouldn't be a problem.
There were a lot of families there and everyone was very polite. The staff spoke English, German, Spanish, and (hopefully) French.More
